Scalewarden Dragon Build

Core Mechanic

The Scalewarden class item, Dragon Nest, hatches adjacent Dragon Eggs in a single combat (normally takes two). A roman build that overwhelms with dedicated Dragon items — strong when assembled, but it takes time to come online and securing early-game power is the challenge.

Hatch Dragon Eggs (Amethyst / Emerald / Sapphire gem eggs) and fight alongside the Dragons. Attacking adjacent to a Dragon also heals you.

Recommended Subclass: Scalewarden

Scalewarden is mandatory at Round 8. Dragon Nest is the centerpiece.

Core Items and Placement

Item Role
Dragon Nest Class core; egg hatch acceleration
Dragon Egg Material that hatches into a Dragon
Draconic Orb Magic boost for Dragons
Amethyst / Emerald / Sapphire Egg materials
Armor / Shield Early HP bunker
Banana Stamina supply

Center Dragon Nest and place Dragon Eggs in adjacent slots. Place Draconic Orb around the hatched Dragon to lift magic damage.

Build Order

Early game (Rounds 1-6)

Prioritize gems (Amethyst, Emerald, Sapphire) and Healing Herbs. Chip with Wooden Sword while soaking early damage.

Mid game (Rounds 7-12)

Take Scalewarden at Round 8. Center Dragon Nest and place Dragon Eggs in adjacent slots. Confirm a single-combat hatch.

Late game (Round 13+)

Complete the magic boost with Draconic Orb. The end form — 2-3 Dragons + Orbs + Dragon Nest — overwhelms with automatic Dragon attacks.

Tactics and Positioning

The weakness is the long lead time before hatch. In the early-to-mid game, survive on minimum damage and shift to a comeback in the mid-to-late where Dragon auto-attacks take over. HP bunker maintenance is crucial.

Difficult Matchups and Counters

  • Opening-rush archetypes: you die before hatching. Layer shield + helm early.
  • Buff-strip: removing Dragon Nest buffs hurts. Counter with Amethyst.
  • High armor: even Dragon attacks can struggle to pierce. Mix in a Double Axe.

Variations

Pairing with Firebender (Friendly Fire) is impossible. Combining with Ashbringer (Dark Lantern) creates a revive + Dragon hybrid, but the simplicity of this build is its strength.
