Slippery Bridge

An event where you cross a bridge in a storm. Let the displayed card go, or cling on and pay 3 HP to swap it for a different card. Effectively a free card-removal chance.

Choices

Push through

  • The displayed card is removed from your deck

Cling on (repeatable)

  • Lose 3 HP. The removal target randomly changes to a different card

Recommended Choice

If the displayed card is something you do not want (Strike, Defend, a card that does not fit the situation, etc.), "Push through" to delete it without hesitation. Shop removal costs 75 Gold, so a free removal here is an excellent deal.

If the displayed card is a core card for your deck, "Cling on" for 3 HP to re-roll. You can keep re-rolling until an unwanted card appears, but the HP cost stacks up, so do not overextend.

Strategy

  • 3 HP to protect a key card is very cheap. If a main card is displayed, do not hesitate to "Cling on"
  • How many times you re-roll depends on your HP. Since you lose 3 HP each time, 3 to 4 times (9 to 12 HP) is a realistic ceiling. Beyond that, later battles suffer
  • The higher the ratio of unwanted cards in your deck, the fewer re-rolls you need to hit a removable target. A deck with many starter cards still in it is a particularly good opportunity
  • If your deck is nearly complete and nothing really needs removing, the risk of losing a key card is high. If you do not have HP to spare, accepting "Push through" as a compromise may be necessary
  • If you hit this event in Act 3, you can use card removal as final deck tuning. Trimming the deck right before the Boss fight is a big deal
