The rating and gameplay notes below describe the current main branch (v0.103.2) version.
Parry
Basic Info
- Type: Power
- Cost: 1
- Effect: Whenever you play a Sovereign Blade, gain 6 Block.
Upgraded
- Cost: 1
- Effect: Whenever you play a Sovereign Blade, gain 9 Block.
Rating
A Power that auto-grants Block every time you play a Sovereign Blade. Since Sovereign Blades are attacks, Parry lets you strike and defend in the same motion - a true "offense-defense" loop. For a 1-cost Power it offers exceptional value.
Combined with Swordsaint (increases attack count), a single play yields Block equal to the attack count. For example, if Swordsaint brings attack count to 3, one Sovereign Blade grants 6x3 = 18 Block (9x3 = 27 Block upgraded).
How to Use
- Play Parry as early as possible so every following Sovereign Blade carries Block alongside damage.
- Run Swordsaint alongside to multiply per-play Block via the raised attack count.
- The upgraded 9 Block is extremely strong. Prioritize upgrading it.
Good Synergies
- Swordsaint: Increases Sovereign Blade's attack count. Combined with Parry, one play delivers massive Block.
- Questing Blade: A Power that turns Sovereign Blade into an AoE attack. With Parry, each turn balances offense and defense.
- Conqueror: Doubles Sovereign Blade damage. Parry secures defense while you push high damage.
