Engineer
Tesla Coil Chain Build
Tesla Coil Chain Build
Core Mechanic
The Tesla class item, Tesla Coil, propagates charges to surrounding items in a chain, boosting multiple items at once. Placement-puzzle freedom is high, but optimization is hard and the build sits in the mid-tier (not top).
Optimizing charge chain distance and direction efficiently buffs multiple items.
Recommended Subclass: Tesla
Tesla is mandatory at Round 8. Tesla Coil is the centerpiece.
Core Items and Placement
| Item | Role |
|---|---|
| Tesla Coil | Class core; charge chain propagation |
| Battery (multiple) | Charge supply |
| Various items (weapons, armor, etc.) | Chain targets |
| Mana Orb | Mana supply |
| Armor / Shield | Defensive layer |
| Banana | Stamina supply |
Center Tesla Coil and place chain-target items around it. Place Batteries up top to flow charges.
Build Order
Early game (Rounds 1-6)
Prioritize Batteries and weapon materials. Chip with Wooden Sword.
Mid game (Rounds 7-12)
Take Tesla at Round 8. Center Tesla Coil and place chain targets around. Supply charges with Batteries.
Late game (Round 13+)
Optimize chain distance and direction for maximum boost. The complete form fires multiple boosted items simultaneously.
Tactics and Positioning
The core is "placement puzzle". Trial and error on item positions optimizes the charge chain. When optimized it is strong, but if you are not used to it, other Engineer builds are more stable.
Difficult Matchups and Counters
- Buff-strip: removing Tesla Coil buffs hurts. Counter with Amethyst.
- High armor: even chain damage can struggle to pierce. Mix in a Double Axe.
- Opening-rush: assembly can take time. Layer shield + helm early.
Variations
Combining with Mechanist (Automaton) creates an Automaton + chain hybrid. Pairing with Stormcaller (Thunder Drake) for charge acceleration + chain also works.
