Thunder Drake Speed Build
Thunder Drake Speed Build
Core Mechanic
The Stormcaller class item, Thunder Drake, generates additional charges and builds a lightning composition. A speed-focused build that maximizes all-item activation speed and overwhelms the opponent through hit count.
Battery placement is critical — optimizing the charge flow makes every item fire at high speed.
Recommended Subclass: Stormcaller
Stormcaller is mandatory at Round 8. Thunder Drake is the centerpiece.
Core Items and Placement
| Item | Role |
|---|---|
| Thunder Drake | Class core; additional charge generation |
| Battery (multiple) | Charge supply |
| Generator | Charge generation aid |
| Coil | Charge amplification |
| Gloves of Haste | Activation speed boost |
| Armor / Shield | Defensive layer |
Center Thunder Drake and place Batteries up top so charges flow downward. Amplify Battery charges with Coil for added effect.
Build Order
Early game (Rounds 1-6)
Prioritize Battery and Coil. Chip with Wooden Sword.
Mid game (Rounds 7-12)
Take Stormcaller at Round 8. Center Thunder Drake and place Batteries up top. Increase charge generation with Generator.
Late game (Round 13+)
Maximize all-item activation speed with Gloves of Haste. The complete form fires multiple items per second, overwhelming the opponent.
Tactics and Positioning
The core is "charge flow". Optimizing Battery and Thunder Drake positioning is crucial. Charges flow top-to-bottom, so place Batteries up top, Thunder Drake in the middle, and target items at the bottom.
Difficult Matchups and Counters
- Buff-strip: removing Thunder Drake buffs hurts. Counter with Amethyst.
- High armor: even high-speed attacks can struggle to pierce. Mix in a Double Axe.
- Opening-rush: assembly can take time. Layer shield + helm early.
Variations
Combining with Mechanist (Automaton) creates a Mana + charge hybrid. Pairing with Splitter (Distributor) for charge distribution also works.
