Grovekeeper Djinn Build

Core Mechanic

This variant takes the Grovekeeper subclass and equips Mega Clover directly. Unlike the Ranger's Pathfinder version, the subclass buff lands on Mega Clover itself, which raises both the speed and the consistency of ignition by a full notch.

Djinn Lamp (Manathirst Insta-Lamp) gains a random buff every 2 seconds, and Lucky is one of the possible rolls. Because it runs on Mana, building a Mana supply lets the Lucky stacks accumulate semi-automatically before the round even matters. The instant you hit 20 stacks, Mega Clover triggers and grants 40 random buffs.

When the build comes together, weapon damage scales exponentially and a single main weapon is enough to close the game. Without it, you are weak — so always set up the two-stage backbone of Djinn Lamp + Mana supply.

Recommended Subclass: Grovekeeper

Take Grovekeeper at Round 8. Because the class-item slot holds Mega Clover, you free up the bag for the main weapon and the Djinn Lamp ecosystem. The Ranger's Bag becomes home for the main weapon and the Djinn Lamp's adjacent supply.

Core Items and Placement

Item Role
Mega Clover The ignition device — 40 random buffs at 20 Lucky
Djinn Lamp Generates a random buff (including Lucky) every 2 seconds
Mana Orb / Sapphire Mana supply that powers the Djinn Lamp
Body Armor / Protective Purse / Stone Helm Damage reduction until ignition
One main weapon (Katana, Falcon Blade, etc.) Damage output after ignition
Lucky Piggy 2 Lucky on round start; space-efficient Lucky source

Place a Mana Orb so its star touches the Djinn Lamp's base — this keeps Mana flowing into the Lamp's per-second consumption without interruption. Two Sapphires socketed into the Mana Orb increase Mana generation, which raises Djinn Lamp activation frequency.

Pick exactly one main weapon and put it in the center of the Ranger's Bag. With +10% per weapon in the bag and +3% per Lucky stack, after ignition it is common for a single weapon to hit 90%+ critical rate.

Build Order

Early game (Rounds 1-6)

Secure a Piggybank and 2 Lucky Clovers → craft Lucky Piggy. Plan a path from Wooden Sword → Hammer or Falcon Blade. If a Mana Orb or Sapphire appears, buy it early to seed the future core. Watch for Djinn Lamp around rounds 3-5 (it is rare and may not appear at all in some runs).

Mid game (Rounds 7-12)

Pick Grovekeeper at Round 8 → equip Mega Clover. Finish assembling Djinn Lamp + Mana supply, then verify that the Lamp ticks reliably between rounds. Add armor and a helm for survivability. If Anvil-like Mana sources or Protective Purse appear, swap them in based on space.

Late game (Round 13+)

Promote your main weapon to its final form (Pandemonium Staff, Katana, Eggscalibur, etc.). Take Present or Wolpertinger when offered to push ignition speed even higher. The pattern is monotonous on purpose: trigger Mega Clover → close the game with one weapon.

Tactics and Positioning

This build behaves like two different decks pre- and post-ignition. So plan the round on two axes: how many seconds you can survive before ignition, and how much damage one weapon can output afterward. Armor and helm answer the first; the single weapon + Lucky Piggy + Djinn Lamp answer the second.

Always burn Lucky Clovers manually. Forgetting to do so delays your 20-stack ignition. Stamina is barely a concern, so 1-2 Bananas or Blueberries are enough.

Difficult Matchups and Counters

  • Opening rush archetypes (Venomancer poison, early Reaper): they kill you before ignition. Step armor up to a higher tier (Molten Armor, etc.).
  • Buff-strip (Cursed Dagger, Burning Banner): they remove the 40-buff payoff. Slot Amethyst on a star slot so the buffs can re-apply immediately.
  • Mana drought: the Djinn Lamp stops without Mana. Consider running a second Mana Orb.

Variations

Swap Mega Clover for Wolpertinger as the centerpiece for an easier-to-trigger "Wolp build". You can drop Djinn Lamp and stack raw Lucky from Flute + Leather Boots, but consistency is lower than the Lamp version. If Mana supply just is not coming, leaning into more Fortuna's Grace is also viable.
