Effect and Behavior
Trident strikes at fixed coordinates around the player at regular intervals. Unlike homing or direction-tracking weapons, attack positions are locked to specific angles relative to the player — for example, above, to the right, to the left, and so on. Damage only occurs when an enemy enters one of these fixed points, so the player's positioning and enemy herding determine how many hits land.
Increasing Amount adds more fixed strike positions, widening angular coverage. Duplicator provides Amount +1 and doubles as the evolution material, simultaneously expanding coverage while progressing toward evolution. Damage scales with Might, hitbox size scales with Area, and attack frequency is controlled by Cooldown — shortening as the weapon levels up.
Evolution Path
Hold Duplicator, max Trident, then open a chest after 10:00 to evolve.

Strengths
Fixed-coordinate attacks produce consistent, reliable damage against approaching enemy hordes — because enemies always walk toward the player, they naturally walk through the fixed strike zones. Area stacking makes each position's hitbox large enough to catch enemies without precise herding. As Amount increases, the fixed positions cover progressively more angles until the player is surrounded by a full ring of strike points in late game. The 40,000 damage unlock threshold is reached quickly in an early run.
Weaknesses
Fast-moving or charging enemies can pass through fixed zones before taking multiple hits, reducing efficiency. Low Amount in early runs leaves obvious angular gaps that large enemy waves can exploit. Compared to homing weapons, Trident demands more active positioning from the player to compensate for fixed attack placement.

Gameplay Tips
The core skill with Trident is "routing enemies through fixed zones." Visualize where the fixed positions are around you and adjust your position so enemy approach paths intersect them. Early game when Area is low, securing Candelabrador first widens hitboxes enough to catch enemies that aren't perfectly aligned. Get Duplicator as early as possible — it both evolves the weapon and adds positions. By mid-game with several Amount stacks, the player is essentially surrounded by a damage ring that processes approaching enemies automatically.
FAQ
Q. What exactly are "fixed locations"? A. Points at specific angles and distances from the player that receive a damage hit periodically. The number of points increases with Amount upgrades. Any enemy standing at one of these points when a strike fires takes damage.
Q. Can I use Trident without Duplicator? A. Yes — the weapon functions normally without it. Duplicator is the evolution requirement and adds Amount simultaneously; picking it up early is ideal but not required to use the weapon.
Q. Is Trident effective against fast enemies? A. Less so. Enemies that sprint through fixed positions quickly take fewer hits than slow enemies. On stages with many fast enemies, pair Trident with a homing or area-denial weapon for coverage.
