Hecaton Machine Gun

Overview

Item Details
English Name Hecaton Machine Gun
Japanese Name ヘカトン重機関銃
Chinese Name 赫卡顿机枪
Weapon Type Tech-enabled evolved weapon (machine gun evolution with Bombarding Fire tech on glimmer)
How to Obtain Evolve Saber Machine Gun
Evolution Material Self-evolving (no passive required)
Evolves To Unknown
Pickup Priority A

Effect and Behavior

The evolved form of Saber Machine Gun. Maintains continuous machine gun fire against the nearest enemy and triggers the "Bombarding Fire" tech ability when a glimmer occurs — unleashing a wide-area burst of simultaneous projectiles beyond the normal firing cycle. The tech fires independently of standard shots, meaning each glimmer event adds a separate high-damage volley on top of the baseline rate of fire.

Bombarding Fire's simultaneous multi-directional burst is particularly effective against dense enemy clusters, where multiple projectiles hit different targets in the same frame. Level scaling improves both standard fire rate and the Bombarding Fire burst size. Self-evolving means no passive slot is locked for a further evolution tier.

Evolution Conditions

Max Hecaton Machine Gun (Lv 8) and open an elite-drop chest after 10:00 to evolve — no passive material required (self-evolving). The post-evolution weapon name is currently unconfirmed.

Strengths

  • Glimmer-triggered Bombarding Fire adds a high-damage burst on top of standard continuous fire
  • Wide-area simultaneous projectile burst devastates clustered enemies — each glimmer hits multiple targets
  • Self-evolving keeps all passive slots free for damage amplification
  • Already a strong baseline weapon as an evolved form of Saber Machine Gun

Weaknesses

  • Only obtainable by evolving Saber Machine Gun — requires completing the prior evolution chain step
  • Evolution destination currently unknown
  • Bombarding Fire timing depends on glimmer events outside player control — burst frequency is not directly adjustable

Recommended Characters

  • Characters that increase glimmer frequency: more Bombarding Fire procs means higher total DPS
  • Imelda: +10% Growth levels Hecaton Machine Gun faster for earlier high-level output
  • Characters synergistic with machine gun chains: natural fit for the Saber Machine Gun evolution path

Recommended Passives

  • Spinach: +10% Might raises both continuous fire and Bombarding Fire tech damage (top priority)
  • Duplicator: Amount increase adds more simultaneous projectiles to the Bombarding Fire burst
  • Bracer: Projectile Speed extends the range of both standard shots and the Bombarding Fire volley
  • Tome: Duration extends the Bombarding Fire tech's active window per glimmer

Synergistic Arcanas

  • IX Divine Bloodline: crit compounding on both standard shots and Bombarding Fire tech hits raises DPS significantly
  • III Tragic Princess: Amount increase further expands the Bombarding Fire burst size

Strategy and Tips

  • Acquisition phase: level Saber Machine Gun and evolve it first to obtain Hecaton Machine Gun. Once acquired, prioritize leveling to unlock the full Bombarding Fire burst potential.
  • Mid (10–20 min): Push to Lv8 for self-evolution. Reinforce with Spinach and Duplicator to amplify both standard fire and each Bombarding Fire tech activation against enemy clusters.
  • Late (20+ min): High-level Bombarding Fire bursts blanket wide areas on each glimmer. Stay positioned near dense enemy flows so the simultaneous burst volley catches as many targets as possible.

FAQ

Q: How do I get Hecaton Machine Gun?
A: Evolve Saber Machine Gun by maxing it and opening an elite chest after 10:00 with the required conditions met. It cannot be picked up directly as a weapon offer in runs.

Q: What is the Bombarding Fire tech?
A: A special ability that activates on glimmer events, releasing a large simultaneous burst of projectiles across a wide area. It fires on top of the standard machine gun rate — each glimmer adds a full extra burst of damage separate from the normal firing cycle.

Q: Why is self-evolution an advantage?
A: No passive slot is consumed for evolution — Hecaton Machine Gun reaches its next form through level investment alone. All passive inventory goes toward damage (Spinach, Duplicator, Bracer) rather than holding an evolution material.
