Effect and Behavior
Spawns a small aura around the character that deals continuous contact damage. It is not a projectile, so off-screen enemies are untouched, but every adjacent enemy gets ground down simultaneously. Each level expands the radius and damage and shortens the per-enemy hit cooldown.
Contact ticks also apply knockback, which keeps melee enemies from sticking to you and indirectly cuts incoming damage — Garlic is a defensive weapon as much as an offensive one. Pair with regen passives and arcanas to land a complete regen-tank build.
Evolution Conditions
Max Garlic (Lv 8), carry Pummarola (+0.2 HP/sec per level), and open an elite-drop chest after 10:00 to evolve into Soul Eater.
Soul Eater Effect
After evolution the aura gains a lifesteal effect — every contact tick heals you. Radius and damage both jump significantly, so you can dive into add waves and recover full HP at the same time. Even Red Death density becomes self-sustaining.
Strengths
- Omnidirectional close-range damage shreds dense crowds
- Knockback acts as effective defense, cutting hits taken
- Post-evolution lifesteal turns it into a self-healing tank
- Always-on, no aim required
Weaknesses
- No projectile — off-screen enemies are ignored
- Low per-tick damage means weak boss / high-HP DPS
- Pummarola is mandatory; redundant if you weren't building regen anyway
Recommended Characters
- Gennaro: extra projectile doesn't apply to the aura, but Pummarola synergy is strong
- Porta: area bonus widens the aura
- Peppino: growth and regen synergize with Pummarola
Recommended Passives
- Pummarola: mandatory for evolution, top priority
- Candelabrador: bigger radius, more enemies inside the aura
- Spinach: +10% Might raises contact damage
- Heart Refresh: keystone of natural regen builds
Synergistic Arcanas
- VI Sarabande of Healing: retaliation + sustain pairs perfectly with Soul Eater lifesteal
- IX Divine Bloodline: HP cap + regen bonus deepens the survival pool
- XIV Jail of Crystal: freezes extend the contact window
Strategy and Tips
- Early (0–10 min): Take Garlic to hold the front line, secure Pummarola in parallel. Add an AoE weapon to share crowd duty.
- Mid (10–20 min): Hit Lv MAX + Pummarola, evolve into Soul Eater. Start the contact-lifesteal loop and prioritize regen passives.
- Late (20+ min): Pull adds into the aura to recover HP; leave boss removal to a single-target weapon.
FAQ
Q: Can Garlic carry a build solo?
A: Add clear is dominant, but boss DPS is too thin. Pair with Knife or King Bible for single-target.
Q: Is one Pummarola enough?
A: Evolution only requires one, but stacking levels deepens regen — worth maxing in regen-tank builds.
Q: Does Soul Eater lifesteal go over the HP cap?
A: No, it caps at max HP. Raise the ceiling with Pummarola + Heart Refresh first to avoid wasting heals.
