Regent Colorless Strength Build
Overview
The Colorless Strength Build is a flexible Regent strategy that leans into cross-character colorless cards to compensate when Regent-specific offerings are weak in a given run. Colorless Strength cards permanently increase your base attack damage, so every Attack card in the deck scales with them — including Regent's Star-spending attacks. This makes Strength a multiplier on top of Star damage, creating a hybrid build that works well even with a mix of Regent cards and colorless picks.
Key Cards
- Wrought in War: Regent Attack that gains bonus damage from Strength stacks, making it a direct beneficiary of any Strength investment.
- Celestial Might: High-base damage Attack that multiplies with Strength; becomes a reliable damage dealer as Strength accumulates.
- Hegemony: Attack that scales or applies effects based on power level; Strength directly amplifies its output.
- Spoils of Battle: Skill that generates Gold or resources while also providing Stars or card draw, bridging the colorless and Regent economies.
- Glitterstream: Star generator that ensures Regent's Star finishers still function even in a Strength-focused build.
- Sovereign Blade: Even at moderate Star counts, Sovereign Blade benefits enormously from Strength — the base Stars consumed are multiplied by Strength on each hit.
- Largesse: Skill that provides resources or Stars and scales with accumulated power, flexible enough to fit into any hybrid build.
Key Relics
- Prismatic Gem (colorless): Provides access to cards from all characters, enabling the discovery engine that makes colorless Strength viable across varied runs.
- Fragrant Mushroom (colorless): Colorless relic that may provide Strength or passive attack bonuses, directly fueling the build's scaling.
- Regalite: Even in a Strength-hybrid build, Star amplification stacks multiplicatively with Strength bonuses on Star-spending attacks.
Strategy
- When Act 1 Regent card offerings are weak, actively look for colorless Strength sources in shops, events, and Elite rewards.
- Obtain at least one permanent Strength source before Act 2 — even +3 Strength transforms every Attack card in the deck into a significantly stronger card.
- Continue including Star generation cards (Glitterstream, Royalties) so that Regent's native Star-spending finishers remain playable alongside Strength attacks.
- Use Spoils of Battle and Largesse to maintain resource economy while bridging the colorless and Regent card pools.
- In late Acts, prioritize Strength over Stars if forced to choose — Strength's permanent nature provides compounding returns throughout the entire run.
Pick Priority
- Highest: Permanent Strength sources (colorless or Regent), Prismatic Gem relic
- High: Celestial Might, Wrought in War (Strength-scaling Regent attacks)
- Medium: Glitterstream, Sovereign Blade (maintaining Star synergy)
- Low: Cards that neither gain Strength nor generate Stars; they contribute minimally to either axis of the build
Tips
- Strength is a permanent buff — a single +3 Strength card taken in Act 1 applies to every combat for the rest of the run. Prioritize it over single-combat burst options.
- Prismatic Gem's cross-character card access makes this build more consistent; without it, colorless Strength sources depend entirely on shop RNG and event luck.
- Do not abandon Stars entirely even in a Strength build — Sovereign Blade at 15 Stars with +6 Strength far exceeds a plain 15-Star Sovereign Blade.
- Against high-HP Bosses, the hybrid approach (Strength + Stars) often outperforms pure Star-stacking because Strength applies to every attack throughout the fight, not just the finisher turn.
