| English Name | Shadow Pinion |
| Japanese Name | 黒色のドリル |
| Chinese Name | 暗影螺钉 |
| Weapon Type | Backward-firing drill projectile |
| Evolution Material | Wings |
| Evolves To | Valkyrie Turner |
| Pickup Priority | B |
Effect and Behavior
Fires high-speed drill projectiles in the direction opposite to player movement. The weapon only fires while the player is moving — standing still produces nothing. Projectile output scales with movement speed and frequency, making it a uniquely movement-dependent weapon.
Shots pierce in a straight line, dealing high efficiency damage against vertical enemy columns. Level scaling increases projectile count, damage, and pierce count. Fast-kiting playstyles maximize DPS; the more you move, the more firepower you generate.
Concetta (016) starts with Shadow Pinion and has a movement speed bonus that directly amplifies the weapon's DPS.
Evolution Conditions
Max Shadow Pinion (Lv 8), carry Wings, and open an elite-drop chest after 10:00 to evolve into Valkyrie Turner.
Valkyrie Turner Effect
After evolution drill shots become a sustained flame beam firing rearward. The longer you move, the more the beam deals — high movement speed translates directly into massive cumulative damage. Becomes the cornerstone of movement-centric builds.
Strengths
- Unique system where DPS scales with player movement
- Piercing drill shots wipe vertical enemy columns
- Post-evolution becomes the main DPS of mobility builds
- Wings rarely competes with other passive slots
Weaknesses
- Zero output when stationary — incompatible with static playstyles
- Rearward-only — front-facing enemies need another weapon
- Low-mobility builds suffer significant DPS loss
- Wings is less commonly found, delaying evolution timing
Recommended Characters
- Concetta: starts with Shadow Pinion; movement speed bonus maximizes DPS
- Gennaro: extra projectile count adds shots
- Imelda: +10% Growth speeds evolution
Recommended Passives
- Wings: mandatory for evolution, top priority
- Rapid Fire: faster projectiles extend pierce range
- Spinach: +10% Might raises per-shot damage
- Candelabrador: wider area expands hitbox
Synergistic Arcanas
- XX Silent Old Sanctuary: projectile +1 and speed bonus indirectly boosts movement DPS
- IV Soul Eater: movement speed bonus converts directly into more Shadow Pinion output
Strategy and Tips
- Early (0–10 min): Level Shadow Pinion and collect Wings. Keep moving constantly to sustain fire output.
- Mid (10–20 min): Hit Lv MAX + Wings → evolve into Valkyrie Turner. Keep the beam sustained by staying mobile.
- Late (20+ min): Stack movement speed passives to extend Valkyrie Turner's beam uptime. Kite through enemy clusters at high speed.
FAQ
Q: Does stopping really cut output to zero?
A: Yes — no movement, no shots. Constant movement is the baseline assumption for this weapon.
Q: Where does Wings drop?
A: From field item drops. It's relatively uncommon, so decide early if you're running Shadow Pinion and watch for it.
Q: Is rearward firing frustrating to use?
A: It takes adjustment — you deliberately move away from enemies to shoot them. Once the habit clicks, it's extremely effective.
