Backpack Battles Berserker Complete Guide

The Berserker is an A-Tier intermediate class in Backpack Battles. Building around three axes — axe weapons, runes, and the wolf system — the Berserker offers diverse build paths that can achieve extremely high damage output once mastered. It takes some experience to get right, but rewards skilled players handsomely.

Berserker Fundamentals

Class-Exclusive Mechanics

  • Berserker Bag: Placing compatible items inside the bag grants attack power and durability bonuses. Particularly strong synergy with axe-type items
  • Rune System: Equipping Badger Rune Badger/Elephant Rune Elephant/Hawk Rune Hawk rune items grants class-exclusive buffs, each rune producing different effects
  • Wolf System: Wolf Emblem Wolf Emblem and Pack Friends items summon wolves that attack without consuming stamina — similar to pet free attacks
  • Rage Stack: A Berserker-exclusive buff that increases attack power as HP decreases, enabling dramatic comebacks

Subclass Overview

Subclass Key Feature Difficulty
Fighter Melee weapon specialist, Hammer builds ★☆☆
Chieftain Endurance and sustained combat ★★☆
Anvil Double Axe + crafting enhancement ★★☆
Shaman Multi-rune combos + debuff application ★★★
Pack Leader Wolf summoning + free attacks ★★☆

Subclass Breakdown

Fighter

Rating: A | Difficulty: ★☆☆

An intuitive melee build centered on Hammer-type weapons. Stun and knockback disrupt enemy activations while you chain your own attack sequence. The easiest Berserker subclass to learn.

Key Items

Item Role
War Hammer Main weapon; heavy hits apply Stun
Battle Axe Secondary weapon; axe synergy increases damage
Iron Shield Balances offense with defense
Belt of Strength Attack power buff + stamina support
Potion Belt Stamina refills to sustain attacks

Build Steps

Early game (Rounds 1–5):

  1. Secure an axe or hammer as early as possible
  2. Build a defensive foundation with Iron Shield
  3. Purchase the Berserker Bag to establish weapon synergies

Mid game (Rounds 6–10):

  1. Set War Hammer as primary weapon to establish stun control
  2. Add Battle Axe to activate axe synergy
  3. Boost attack power with Belt of Strength

Late game (Rounds 11+):

  1. Fill remaining backpack slots with armor
  2. Use stun combos to lock down enemy activations
  3. Leverage Rage stacks for comeback victories

Chieftain

Rating: A | Difficulty: ★★☆

A subclass specializing in durability and sustained combat. Build Endurance stacks to outlast opponents in prolonged fights. The more HP you have, the stronger this build becomes.

Key Items

Item Role
Chieftain Armor Confirms subclass; grants Endurance
Life Stone Increases max HP and heals
Spike Shield Defense combined with counterattack damage
Battle Axe Consistent damage output
Heal Potion Continuous HP recovery

Anvil

Rating: S | Difficulty: ★★☆

Double Axe Anvil

One of the strongest Berserker builds, centered on Double Axe dual-wielding. The Anvil item enhances crafting to maximize axe-type item potential.

Key Items

Item Role
Double Axe Double Axe Core item; attacks twice in succession
Anvil Anvil Crafting enhancement; improves weapon quality
Berserker Bag Berserker Bag Axe synergy buffs everything
Sharpening Stone Further elevates weapon attack power
Blood Axe Final crafted weapon form

Build Steps

Early game:

  1. Highest priority: secure at least 2 Axe axe-type items
  2. Purchase Berserker Bag early
  3. Buy Anvil immediately when it appears in the shop

Mid game:

  1. Craft Double Axe to establish dual-wielding
  2. Use Anvil with Sharpening Stone to enhance weapons
  3. Store axes inside Berserker Bag to activate synergies

Late game:

  1. Craft up to Blood Axe to maximize damage potential
  2. Fill remaining space with armor and utility items
  3. Overwhelm opponents with the rapid axe chain

Strengths and Weaknesses

Strengths:

  • Double Axe balances attack speed and power excellently
  • Weapons grow stronger with each Anvil craft
  • Outstanding synergy with Berserker Bag

Weaknesses:

  • Build fails if axe-type items don't appear in the shop
  • Crafting requires material investment upfront

Shaman

Rating: A | Difficulty: ★★★

Badger Rune Elephant Rune Hawk Rune

A subclass that simultaneously applies debuffs and buffs by combining multiple rune items. High skill ceiling, but devastating when fully assembled.

Key Items

Item Role
Badger Rune Badger Rune Confirms Shaman; stacks increasing attack power
Elephant Rune Elephant Rune Increases HP and defense
Hawk Rune Hawk Rune Enhances attack speed and accuracy
Shaman Staff Doubles rune effect values
Element Stone Strengthens synergy between runes

Rune Combination Strategies

Badger + Elephant: Stable combo that grows attack and HP simultaneously. Reliable from early through late game.

Badger + Hawk: Combines attack power with speed. Rapid strikes accumulate damage quickly.

All 3 Runes: Equipping all three runes triggers a special compound buff — the highest-difficulty but theoretically strongest build.

Pack Leader

Rating: A | Difficulty: ★★☆

Wolf Emblem

A unique subclass that summons wolves as companions to deal continuous free-attack damage. Wolf attacks require no stamina, running in parallel with your own weapon strikes.

Key Items

Item Role
Wolf Emblem Wolf Emblem Confirms subclass; summons 1 wolf
Pack Friends Summons additional wolves; larger packs hit harder
Alpha Wolf Pack leader; buffs the entire wolf pack
Wolf Claw Adds bleed damage to wolf attacks
Pack Bowl Feeds the pack; restores wolf HP

Build Steps

Early game:

  1. Purchase Wolf Emblem immediately upon finding it
  2. Establish a damage base with standard weapons
  3. Keep the pack fed with Pack Bowl

Mid game:

  1. Expand the wolf pack with Pack Friends
  2. Acquire Alpha Wolf to buff the whole group
  3. Add Wolf Claws for bleed damage

Late game:

  1. Fill the backpack with wolf-related items
  2. Command a 5–6 wolf army to overwhelm opponents
  3. Optimize placement to maximize total free attack count

Tips and Strategy

Early Game Priorities

  1. Buy Berserker Bag first: Purchase it the moment it appears in the shop
  2. Decide your subclass direction early: Anvil build if Anvil appears; Pack Leader if Wolf Emblem appears
  3. Secure at least one weapon: Essential for every build

Backpack Layout Basics

  • Place weapons inside or adjacent to the Berserker Bag to maximize synergy
  • Position runes centrally to cover the largest area
  • Fill corner slots with defensive items

Weaknesses and Countermeasures

Berserker Weaknesses

  1. Low healing: Non-Chieftain builds struggle when HP drops
  2. Vulnerable to poison and sustained damage: Rage stacks can't save you if HP drains too fast
  3. High shop dependency: Missing axe or wolf items can collapse the build plan

Countermeasures

  • vs. Poison: Include 1–2 Life Stones or Heal Potions
  • vs. Sustained Damage: Consider switching to Chieftain Endurance build
  • vs. Bad Shop Luck: Fighter Hammer build uses generic items and works as a reliable fallback

Summary

The Berserker's strength lies in its build diversity.

  • Maximum damage: Anvil Double Axe Build
  • Consistent wins: Chieftain Endurance Build
  • Unique playstyle: Pack Leader Wolf Build
  • Complex synergies: Shaman Rune Build

Regardless of build, the early-game fundamentals are the same: secure the Berserker Bag → decide your main weapon → confirm your subclass. Start with Fighter or Anvil builds to learn the basics, then challenge yourself with Shaman or Pack Leader once you're comfortable.
