Reaper
Snake Poison Tank Build
Snake Poison Tank Build
Core Mechanic
The Venomancer class item, Snake, instantly grants up to +250 max HP and +20 Lucky when surrounded by 5 adjacent Pets. On the Reaper, Lucky directly scales the resistance against the opponent's debuff cleanses, and at 20 stacks you fully prevent any cleanse — your poison stays for the full fight.
In short, the plan is: cluster 5 Pets around Snake → lock 20 Lucky → keep dropping poison with Death Scythe. The added +250 HP also lets you survive counter-pressure while you stack stacks.
Recommended Subclass: Venomancer
Venomancer is mandatory at Round 8. Snake's pet-adjacency bonus and Death Scythe's poison-duration buff are direct synergies.
Core Items and Placement
| Item | Role |
|---|---|
| Snake | Class core; +250 HP and +20 Lucky with 5 adjacent Pets |
| Death Scythe | Main poison weapon; applies multiple stacks |
| Pandemonium Tank Scythe | Late-game extra damage with random powerful effects |
| Poison Goobert | Refills poison-related buffs on buff gain |
| Toad / Hedgehog / Rat (Pets) | Fill the 5 adjacent slots around Snake |
| Pestilence Flask | Poison stack source |
Place Snake in the middle and surround it with 5 Pets in adjacent (including diagonal) slots. Cluster Death Scythe and socket Emeralds into it for extra poison application.
Build Order
Early game (Rounds 1-6)
Prioritize Pets (Toad, Hedgehog) and Pestilence Flask. Move from Wooden Sword to Poison Dagger as fast as possible to seed the poison floor. Pick up Amethyst or Emerald when offered.
Mid game (Rounds 7-12)
Take Venomancer at Round 8. Buy Snake with top priority and seat 5 Pets in the adjacent slots. The moment Death Scythe appears, slot it in. Keep Poison Goobert in the loop to refresh poison-strength buffs.
Late game (Round 13+)
Add Pandemonium Tank Scythe for damage. Once Snake's +250 HP, the Pet cluster, and poison cleanse-prevention all line up, most opposing poison answers (Amethyst, Healing Herbs) stop working.
Tactics and Positioning
Once Snake is online you cannot lose the poison race. Against short-fight builds (Mega Clover ignition), survive the opening with HP management, then ride the poison stack lead in the mid-to-late game. Exactly 5 Pets is optimal — a 6th Pet adds nothing, so use that slot for an attacking Pet instead.
Difficult Matchups and Counters
- High-armor Turtle archetypes: poison is fixed damage so it bypasses armor, but reaching 19-20 stacks takes time. Run extra Pestilence Flasks to speed up stacking.
- Buff-strip (Cursed Dagger, Burning Banner): stripping Snake's +20 Lucky breaks the cleanse-prevention. Keep Amethyst on a star slot to re-apply.
- Opening-rush (Berserker Hammer + Double Axe): bank HP with shield and helm so Snake's bonus is online before you take a fatal hit.
Variations
Splice in Hexblade (Cursed Dagger) for a dual-axis Snake + debuff variant that piles more debuffs even faster. Skewing the Pet roster toward poison-themed Pets (poison Goobers) shifts the build toward an attack-leaning version that drops extra poison per swing.
