Reaper
Vampiress Lifesteal Build
Vampiress Lifesteal Build
Core Mechanic
The Vampiress class item, Nocturnal Rock Lifter, instantly grants a large amount of Vampirism on round start, gives adjacent weapons lifesteal, and lifts overall healing. Often described as the most satisfyingly greedy Reaper build — the more items you can fit into the Storage Coffin, the bigger the payoff.
Because poison debuffs automatically convert into lifesteal through Vampirism buffs, you fold a poison build and a lifesteal build into one. That's the build's main edge.
Recommended Subclass: Vampiress
Vampiress is mandatory at Round 8. Nocturnal Rock Lifter is the centerpiece.
Core Items and Placement
| Item | Role |
|---|---|
| Nocturnal Rock Lifter | Lifesteal core; grants lifesteal to adjacent weapons |
| Bloodthorn | Melee weapon combining lifesteal and high damage |
| Unhealing Manathirst | Mana drain + lifesteal amplifier |
| Blood Goobert | Refills lifesteal buffs on buff gain |
| Hungry Blade | Backup lifesteal weapon; promotes to Bloodthorn |
| Ruby (gem) | Boosts lifesteal output |
Place Nocturnal Rock Lifter in the middle and surround it with Bloodthorn or Hungry Blade so every weapon swing carries lifesteal. Socket Ruby into weapons to push lifesteal further.
Build Order
Early game (Rounds 1-6)
Use Wooden Sword or Stone as a placeholder while waiting for Hungry Blade and Thorn Whip. Health Potion and Healing Herbs absorb early damage.
Mid game (Rounds 7-12)
Take Vampiress at Round 8. Buy Nocturnal Rock Lifter with top priority and place lifesteal weapons in adjacent slots. Pick up Unhealing Manathirst when offered to set up the Mana drain + lifesteal loop.
Late game (Round 13+)
Refresh lifesteal buffs with Blood Goobert and reinforce weapons with Ruby and Topaz. Take advantage of the Storage Coffin to maximize the attack loop. Once it comes together, you become an endurance threat that drains the opponent's HP while staying topped off.
Tactics and Positioning
Lifesteal converts incoming hits into healing, so HP bunkering matters. Maintain at least a basic shield + helm for survivability, and add an attack-speed source like Fanny Pack to land more swings per second.
Difficult Matchups and Counters
- Opening-rush archetypes: lifesteal cannot keep up and you get bursted. Layer up shield and armor early.
- Buff-strip: stripping Vampirism hurts. Counter with Amethyst.
- Healing-block (curse archetypes): if the opponent prevents healing, lifesteal loses value. Keep a debuff-cleanse option in the build.
Variations
Combine with Hexblade (Cursed Dagger) for a lifesteal + debuff-spread hybrid. Stacking with Snake (Venomancer) is hard, but a deviant version that runs Pets to bank HP also exists.
