Voucher Guide
Effects, priority tiers, and upgrade chaining strategies for all vouchers
What Are Vouchers
Vouchers are special items that appear in the shop once per ante. When purchased for $10, they grant permanent upgrades to your run. Some vouchers unlock an upgraded version of themselves, creating two-tier chains. Voucher choices significantly impact the trajectory of your run.
How Vouchers Work
Each voucher has a base version and an upgrade. Buying the base version causes the upgrade to appear in later shop visits. For example, buying Overstock reveals Overstock Plus.
Top-Priority Vouchers (Take Early)
Overstock / Overstock Plus
Adds +1/+2 joker slots to the shop display. More jokers visible per shop visit means dramatically higher odds of finding the pieces your build needs. This widens the search space for every strategy and is the backbone of most successful runs.
Rating: S+
Reroll Surplus / Reroll Glut
Reduces shop reroll cost by $1/$2 (minimum $1). Cheaper rerolls mean more attempts per ante to find key jokers and tarots. Combined with Overstock, the ability to search through the shop becomes substantially stronger.
Rating: S
Observatory
Each Planet card in your consumable slots grants X1.5 Mult to the matching hand type. With two Planet cards held, that's a permanent X2.25 Mult on the corresponding hand. For builds that actively use Planet cards, this is transformative.
Rating: S
Clearance Sale / Fire Sale
All shop items cost 20%/50% less. At Fire Sale prices, jokers drop to roughly $4–5 each, making it feasible to snap up multiple jokers in a single shop visit. Pairs with cheap rerolls to make high-volume joker shopping viable.
Rating: A+
Omen Globe
Replaces Tarot Packs in the shop with Spectral Packs. Spectral cards tend to be stronger than individual Tarots, and certain Spectrals (like Soul for a free legendary joker) can define a run. Essential for builds that rely on Spectral effects.
Rating: A (S for Spectral-dependent builds)
Economy Vouchers
Bronze / Silver / Gold Status
Collect stamps by purchasing Tarot, Spectral, or Planet cards respectively; fill the card for a free shop reroll. Over many antes, the cumulative free rerolls translate into meaningful gold savings.
Rating: B+
Tape Game
Doubles the sell value of cards. Particularly powerful with The Egg (which increases its sell value each round) — by mid-late game, a single Egg sell can return $30 or more.
Rating: A (S when running The Egg)
Score Vouchers
Director's Cut
Allows you to reroll a Boss Blind's debuff effect once per ante. If your build is vulnerable to suit-blanking or face-card disabling debuffs, this provides insurance against losing runs to unfavorable blind matchups.
Rating: A (S for specific fragile builds)
Magician's Spectacular
Each Planet card used generates an additional Planet card. Using Planets replenishes itself, creating a compounding loop of hand-level upgrades without running dry on consumables.
Rating: A

Upgrade Chaining Strategy
Voucher upgrades require the base version to have been purchased in a prior ante. A common plan:
- Ante 1: Buy Overstock
- Ante 2: Overstock Plus becomes available; buy Reroll Surplus
- Ante 3+: Reroll Glut becomes available; target Observatory
Chaining upgrades gradually fortifies your economy heading into the back half of the run.
Context Matters
No voucher is universally the best pick. If you're flush with gold, invest in score vouchers. If you're still searching for your key jokers, prioritize discovery rate. Reading the current state of your run and adapting voucher choices accordingly separates winning play from mechanical priority lists.
