Rating
Egg Sac is a burst-type spawner ball. On impact, it "hatches" — exploding outward with a radial scatter of small projectiles that fly in all directions from the landing point. Unlike Brood Mother, which releases spiders that crawl/run from the impact, Egg Sac fires in a circular burst pattern that covers a wide radius instantly.
Against enemies grouped at the landing point, the radial spread can hit everything in a full circle simultaneously. This makes it one of the best balls in the game against dense formations when aimed correctly. Solo B-tier is a conservative rating; with proper targeting and spawn passives, it regularly performs at A-tier level.
When to Pick
Pick Egg Sac when facing waves with clustered enemy formations. A well-placed Egg Sac burst at the center of a cluster is one of the highest DPS hits available to a spawner build.
Lower value against scattered enemies where the radial spread has nowhere to concentrate. In those cases, a single-target ball is more efficient per throw.
Evolutions
Egg Sac evolves into more powerful burst-spawner forms. Evolved versions typically increase the number of child projectiles, improve their damage, or add status effects to the scattered balls. Evolution materials include other spawner-type balls and potentially Brood Mother. Pursue evolution as soon as available — the upgrade is substantial.
Best Characters
- AoE-focused builds: Characters that maximize area output use Egg Sac's radial burst to full effect.
- Spawn synergy characters: Combine with Brood Mother for double-spawner coverage on every throw.
- Dense wave specialists: Characters running content with consistently packed enemy formations extract maximum value.

Tips
- Center targeting: Always aim for the center of enemy clusters. The radial scatter covers 360° — the center hit maximizes simultaneous contacts.
- Avoid walls: Landing near walls causes a large fraction of the scatter to be absorbed. Aim for open-field clusters whenever possible.
- Brood Mother combo: Running both Egg Sac and Brood Mother creates overlapping spawn coverage. Every throw generates two independent waves of secondary projectiles.
- Bounce procs: Each bounce fires another burst. Bounce passives are particularly good with Egg Sac.
TL;DR
