Hinterlands' Treasure-powered drawing village. Conditional, but +3 Cards / +1 Action = cantrip + 2-card-net at $5 cost — better than Smithy with bonus +1 Action.

Downside: Treasure required. In thin engines or BMs without Treasure-rich hands, dead-card risk.

Community consensus: top-tier Hinterlands, especially with FG / Silver-BM. Tier A.

How to Play

Mid: 1-2 copies. Shines in Treasure-dense decks.

With FG-heavy decks: Stables discards FG (since first FG = $1 only), draws 3 to find more FGs.

Discard Coppers for +3 draw — soft thinning effect.

Key Combos

Stables + Fool's Gold: FG as fuel; +3 draw finds more FGs. Strongest in FG-centric decks.

Stables + Copper / Silver: Discard for +3, +Action chains.

Stables + Smithy: Stables draws 3, Smithy draws 3 — massive hand.

Stables + King's Court: KC + Stables = discard 2 Treasures for +6 / +2 Actions.

Stables + Trader / Jeweler analog: Silver-feeders enable Stables.

Stables + Border Village: Action support.

Stables + Crossroads: Crossroads draws VP; Stables fires off Treasure.

  • Trasher-heavy / Treasure-poor decks: Stables can't fire.
  • Heavy attacks (Militia, Cutpurse): Treasure denial breaks Stables.
  • Pure engines (zero Treasure): Stables dead.

Advanced Tips

FG synergy detail: FG #1 = $1, FG #2+ = $4. Discard FG #1 to Stables, retain FG #2+ for $4 each. Optimal.

Copper-discard = soft thinning. Density rises temporarily.

Cap: 1-2 Stables; 3+ depletes Treasure.

KC + Stables: 2 Treasures for +6 cards / +2 Actions. Massive draw.

Timing: Play Stables before Treasures in main phase. Otherwise post-draw Treasures unusable.

Jeweler-analog flow: Silver-feeders → Stables fuel chain.
