Bones
Overview
Bones are one of the most common foundational resources in Hades II, dropping broadly from enemies, treasure rooms, and deeper Tartarus chambers on the Underworld route. Supply is stable from the start of the game, and players who equip certain hope boons or bone-collection relics will find it difficult to run short.
Uses
- Purchasing items and upgrades at Charon's shop during runs
- Upgrading Nocturne weapons (unlocking new base stats and Aspects)
- Unlocking Cauldron Incantation recipes as a triggering ingredient
- Satisfying secondary material costs in various Arcana and hub upgrade menus
Bones are functionally equivalent to the Darkness resource from the original Hades in terms of day-to-day importance. Newly unlocked weapons consume Bones fastest, so reserving a stockpile immediately after unlocking a new weapon accelerates its early power curve. Avoid hoarding — check upgrade menus regularly and spend consistently.
