Curved Knife

Overview

Item Details
English Name Curved Knife
Japanese Name カーブナイフ
Chinese Name 弯刀
Weapon Type Random-target spinning projectile
Evolution Material Bracer
Evolves To Unknown
Pickup Priority B

Effect and Behavior

Fires a spinning projectile at a randomly selected enemy each activation. The target is chosen automatically from enemies on screen — movement direction and player facing are irrelevant. The spinning trajectory means the projectile may contact additional enemies along its path to the target. Level scaling increases projectile count, damage, and targeting frequency.

Obtained by picking it up in a run (no special unlock condition). The random targeting removes any directional management burden — the weapon delivers ambient damage to whatever enemy happens to be selected each cycle.

Evolution Conditions

Max Curved Knife (Lv 8), carry Bracer, and open an elite-drop chest after 10:00 to evolve. The post-evolution weapon name is currently unconfirmed from available data.

Strengths

  • Random auto-targeting covers all screen positions — no directional management needed
  • Spinning trajectory can contact enemies between the player and the target, providing incidental multi-hit value
  • Bracer is a common, useful passive that has independent movement speed value beyond the evolution requirement
  • No special character or unlock requirement — universally available

Weaknesses

  • Random targeting cannot be controlled — focusing damage on a specific target (boss) is not possible
  • Spinning trajectory is unpredictable in terms of which enemies actually get hit
  • Evolution destination currently unknown

Recommended Characters

  • Characters with projectile count bonuses: more projectiles mean more simultaneous random targets, increasing damage spread
  • Gennaro: +1 projectile count increases Curved Knife's simultaneous coverage
  • Imelda: +10% Growth for faster Lv8

Recommended Passives

  • Bracer: mandatory for evolution, and the movement speed bonus has independent value (top priority)
  • Duplicator: Amount increase adds more spinning projectiles per activation, increasing multi-target coverage
  • Spinach: +10% Might raises per-projectile damage
  • Candelabrador: wider area extends the spinning path's effective range

Synergistic Arcanas

  • IX Divine Bloodline: crit compounding across multiple randomly-targeted spinning projectiles raises DPS
  • XX Silent Old Sanctuary: Amount and speed bonuses increase both projectile count and movement simultaneously

Strategy and Tips

  • Early (0–10 min): Level Curved Knife and grab Duplicator to increase projectile count — more projectiles means more enemies hit per activation cycle across different random targets. Dense enemy environments are where random targeting becomes most efficient.
  • Mid (10–20 min): Secure Bracer and push to Lv8 for evolution. Random targeting means the weapon self-directs — passive management and build setup can proceed without worrying about weapon facing.
  • Late (20+ min): Post-evolution capability adds on top of the random-target spinning projectile base. Spinach and Duplicator together maximize per-shot damage and projectile count for full-screen incidental coverage.

FAQ

Q: How do I get Curved Knife?
A: Pick it up in a run — there is no special unlock condition. It appears in the standard weapon pool.

Q: Can I make it target a specific enemy?
A: No — the target is chosen randomly each activation. It cannot be directed at a specific enemy like a boss. With more projectiles (Duplicator), more targets are hit simultaneously, distributing damage across multiple random enemies.

Q: Does the spinning hit multiple enemies?
A: The spinning trajectory can contact enemies along the path to the target, providing incidental hits beyond the primary target. Candelabrador's area extension increases the effective path width for more incidental contacts.
