Chinese Name 夺魂摄魄
How to Unlock Select with Ebony Diablouge, or purchase from the Merchant (Librarian)
Evolution Material Vicious Hunger
Evolves To (To be confirmed)
Pickup Priority B

Effect and Behavior

Soul Steal damages all enemies currently within the player's sight simultaneously, and has a chance to convert each enemy it hits into a heart pickup. Collected hearts restore HP, making Soul Steal a combat-active healing source in addition to a wide-coverage damage tool. Vicious Hunger is the evolution material.

  • Damages all enemies within the player's visible screen area simultaneously
  • Each hit carries a chance to convert the enemy into a heart item
  • Collected hearts restore player HP — an active mid-combat healing source
  • Attack coverage is bounded by the visible screen; enemies off-screen are not targeted
  • Vicious Hunger is the paired passive and evolution material for this weapon

Evolution

Hold Vicious Hunger, level Soul Steal to MAX, then open a treasure chest after 10:00 (evolved form name to be confirmed).

Vicious Hunger functions as both a paired passive and the evolution material — securing it serves both purposes simultaneously.

Strengths

  • Hits every enemy on screen per activation — total damage scales with enemy density
  • Heart conversion provides an active in-combat HP recovery source on top of base damage
  • Full-screen coverage means no blind spots against enemies already on screen
  • Simultaneous offense and healing extends run longevity in high-density situations

Weaknesses

  • Limited acquisition method — requires Ebony Diablouge or a Merchant purchase
  • Low concentrated single-target damage; does not rapidly eliminate elites or boss-level threats
  • Heart conversion is probabilistic — it does not reliably trigger when most needed
  • Enemies approaching from off-screen require a second weapon with longer range or orbital coverage

Recommended Characters

Ebony Diablouge is the most natural pairing. Characters that struggle with HP management in dense enemy situations benefit from the heart conversion healing source. Builds that want simultaneous offense and survivability in a single weapon slot are the ideal fit.

Recommended Passives

Passive Reason
Vicious Hunger Required evolution material
Spinach Might increase raises the damage delivered to all on-screen enemies per activation
Candelabrador Area increase expands the visible range slightly and strengthens the Area scaling
Pummarola HP regeneration stacks on top of heart-conversion healing for maximum sustain
Crown Cooldown reduction increases activation frequency, raising both damage rate and heart conversion opportunities

Recommended Arcana

Arcana Effect
IV - Moon Dream Recovery-related bonuses amplify healing from collected hearts
XIII - Wicked Season Global stat increases amplify both the damage and the heart conversion effect

Gameplay Tips

Soul Steal performs best in high enemy density — every additional enemy on screen is another hit. Stay in areas where enemies cluster and let the full-screen activation hit as many targets as possible per cycle. Heart conversion produces more healing opportunities when more enemies are on screen.

Pick up converted hearts promptly. Hearts that expire uncollected waste the healing opportunity — maintain awareness of heart spawns and move to collect them between activations.

Off-screen enemies require a second weapon. Pair Soul Steal with an orbital or long-range weapon that handles enemies still approaching from outside the visible area. Soul Steal clears on-screen threats; the companion weapon prevents off-screen enemies from arriving at full health.

FAQ

Q. Can characters other than Ebony Diablouge use Soul Steal? A. Yes — once unlocked or purchased from the Merchant it is available on any character. The Merchant purchase option makes it more accessible than most character-specific unlock weapons.

Q. Can I increase the heart conversion rate? A. The specific conversion probability is not publicly disclosed. Might and weapon level may influence the rate, but exact values are not confirmed.

Q. What counts as "in sight"? A. The player's visible screen area at the current display resolution and zoom level. Enemies outside the visible boundary are not targeted — the effective range shifts with screen size and game settings.
