Luminatio

Overview

Item Details
English Name Luminatio
Japanese Name ルミナーレ
Chinese Name 光球
Weapon Type Orbiting light orbs (close-range all-direction)
Evolution Material Crown
Evolves To Vol Luminatio
Pickup Priority B

Effect and Behavior

Generates light orbs that orbit around the player in circular paths, dealing contact damage to any enemy they pass through. Level scaling increases orb count, orbit speed, and damage — at high levels multiple orbs form dense layered orbits that cover nearly the full surrounding area.

The orbiting pattern rewards pulling enemies close. Diving into dense crowds maximizes contact hits; distant enemies are out of reach. Candelabrador's area bonus widens the orbital radius, increasing coverage and making the weapon more aggressive.

Evolution Conditions

Max Luminatio (Lv 8), carry Crown, and open an elite-drop chest after 10:00 to evolve into Vol Luminatio.

Vol Luminatio Effect

After evolution the orb count and orbit speed increase substantially, forming multi-layered orbits that blanket the player's immediate surroundings. Crown's experience bonus remains active alongside the upgraded DPS — Vol Luminatio combines high area damage with passive experience acceleration, making it an efficient late-game option in dense enemy zones.

Strengths

  • Continuous automatic coverage — no directional aiming
  • Multi-layer orbits at high levels cover nearly the full perimeter
  • Crown synergy adds experience bonus alongside the evolution
  • Easy to pair with ranged weapons for comprehensive coverage

Weaknesses

  • Close-range only — requires pulling enemies in
  • Cannot reach distant enemies at all
  • Slow Crown acquisition can delay the evolution window
  • Raw DPS can fall behind other evolved weapons at equal investment

Recommended Characters

  • Imelda: +10% Growth speeds evolution; exp bonus from Crown compounds further
  • Gennaro: extra projectile count adds orbs to the orbit
  • Marika: area bonus widens orbital radius

Recommended Passives

  • Crown: mandatory for evolution; experience bonus is valuable independently
  • Candelabrador: wider area extends orbital radius and coverage
  • Spinach: +10% Might raises per-orb damage
  • Bracer: higher projectile speed increases orbit rate

Synergistic Arcanas

  • IV Soul Eater: experience multiplier stacks with Crown's exp bonus
  • IX Divine Bloodline: crit compounding with high-frequency multi-hit orbs

Strategy and Tips

  • Early (0–10 min): Level Luminatio and collect Crown. Pair with a ranged weapon to cover both melee and distant enemies.
  • Mid (10–20 min): Hit Lv MAX + Crown → evolve into Vol Luminatio. Multi-layer orbits clear the immediate area; the exp bonus accelerates further leveling.
  • Late (20+ min): Vol Luminatio handles close-range clearing while your ranged weapon cleans up. Add Candelabrador to widen the orbital sweep.

FAQ

Q: Can Luminatio carry a run on its own?
A: Not without a ranged partner — it has no reach. As a melee support weapon it's extremely consistent; just don't rely on it for distant targets.

Q: Where does Crown drop?
A: From chests and level-up rewards — relatively common. Prioritize it early to avoid missing the 10-minute evolution window.

Q: Does Bracer actually speed up the orbits?
A: Yes — projectile speed applies to orbit rate. Bracer and speed arcanas make the orbs spin faster, increasing contact frequency against stationary or slow enemies.
