Hecate
Overview
Hecate is the goddess of magic and witchcraft and Melinoë's mentor and guardian. She serves as the boss of Erebus — the first layer of the Underworld route — testing her student with genuine combat before allowing passage deeper into the underworld.
Attack Patterns

| Full-Screen AoE | A sweeping dark-circle attack covering most of the arena (Phase 3) |
Strategy
Attack immediately after each teleport to capitalize on her recovery window. In Phase 2, destroy duplicates first since they have less HP than Hecate and their removal reduces incoming damage significantly. In Phase 3, the moment you see the sheep-transformation wind-up, start dashing to minimize the duration. Keep Magick in reserve for when she deploys the full-screen AoE so you can burst her down quickly. Melee weapons that allow close-range pressure (shield, Sister Blades) minimize the risk of eating tracking orbs at range.
Rewards
Defeating Hecate drops Cinders, the most important early-game crafting material for Incantations at the Crossroads.
