Overview
Experimental Medicine is a niche but powerful arcana for healing-focused builds. It doubles every source of HP recovery, including passive heal items like Pummarola and Hollow Heart as well as any card or ability that restores HP.
The most impactful use case is stacking multiple healing items before taking this arcana. When you hold two or three Pummarola and a Hollow Heart, the doubled recovery per tick results in significant HP regeneration that can offset heavy incoming damage from late-game enemies. Suor Clerici, whose passive already emphasizes healing, becomes even more durable with this arcana in place.
On high-difficulty runs where sustaining HP is a constant challenge, Experimental Medicine provides a meaningful safety net. It won't boost your damage output at all, but keeping yourself healthy means you can survive long enough to win with whatever damage strategy you have.
Tips
Only take this arcana if your current build already includes two or more healing items. With zero or one healing source, the doubling effect provides minimal value. Also keep in mind that overhealing above your max HP is wasted, so pairing this with HP cap increases (such as Hollow Heart) maximizes efficiency.
