Effect and Behavior
Swings a chained iron ball around the player in a rotating arc, hitting any enemy it passes through. The swing covers a wide radius — the ball itself takes up significant space, creating a large melee zone. Level scaling increases ball size, swing speed, and damage.
The key play pattern is staying in the middle of enemy clusters — the rotating arc hits everything in its sweep without directional input. Candelabrador's area bonus widens the orbit, directly increasing the zone of control. Armor's damage reduction supports the aggressive close-range positioning this weapon demands.
Note: Armor is a Power-up that must be purchased with gold in the main menu before a run — it is not a field item that drops during play.
Evolution Conditions
Max Iron Ball (Lv 8), have the Armor Power-up purchased and equipped, and open an elite-drop chest after 10:00 to evolve into Wrecking Ball.
Wrecking Ball Effect
After evolution the iron ball grows substantially and the chain extends, dramatically widening the orbit radius. The spin rate increases too, creating a near-constant sweeping storm around the player. In dense enemy clusters Wrecking Ball's area control is among the best in the game.
Strengths
- Rotating swing covers the full surrounding area — effective in dense crowds
- Wide orbital radius despite being a melee weapon
- Armor's damage reduction improves close-range survivability
- Post-evolution orbit size and speed make area suppression overwhelming
Weaknesses
- Melee range only — no reach for distant enemies
- Armor must be purchased in advance — unavailable mid-run
- Hard to concentrate damage on a single boss target
- Requires staying near enemies, demanding active positioning
Recommended Characters
- Gennaro: extra projectile count adds to the swing orbit
- Imelda: +10% Growth speeds evolution
- Skull Ravia: damage reduction bonus stacks with Armor for durable melee
Recommended Passives
- Armor: mandatory for evolution; damage reduction is independently useful (purchase required)
- Candelabrador: wider area expands orbital radius — highest priority for DPS
- Hollow Heart: higher max HP supports close-range positioning
- Spinach: +10% Might raises per-swing damage
Synergistic Arcanas
- IX Divine Bloodline: crit compounding with high-frequency rotating hits
- IV Soul Eater: movement speed bonus improves maneuverability in melee clusters
Strategy and Tips
- Early (0–10 min): Level Iron Ball and prioritize Candelabrador to widen the orbit. Keep a ranged weapon to cover distant enemies.
- Mid (10–20 min): Hit Lv MAX + Armor → evolve into Wrecking Ball. Dive into dense clusters and let the extended orbit do the work.
- Late (20+ min): Stack Candelabrador and Hollow Heart to maximize orbit size and tankiness. Assign a ranged weapon for distance coverage.
FAQ
Q: How do I get Armor?
A: Armor is a Power-up purchased in the main menu with gold — it must be unlocked before the run. It cannot be found as a field drop during play.
Q: Can I evolve without Armor?
A: No — Armor is a mandatory condition for Wrecking Ball. If it hasn't been purchased, run a different weapon evolution path.
Q: Can Iron Ball pair with other melee weapons?
A: Yes, if you have the slots. Iron Ball's wide orbital swing and a directional melee weapon complement each other naturally.
