Effect and Behavior

Town Sword is a directional melee weapon that attacks in the direction the player is facing. The strike follows the player's current movement direction or last directional input, so moving toward enemies keeps them in the weapon's arc. Unlike fixed-direction weapons, this one reorients with the player instantly — rewarding mobile, forward-aggressive play.

When a Glimmer triggers, the "Swallow Slice" technique fires: a rapid diagonal slash in multiple directions beyond the primary strike. Swallow Slice is calculated separately from the normal hit, producing a burst of additional damage each time it procs.

Town Sword auto-evolves at MAX level with no passive item required, so all six passive slots remain free for the player to allocate as desired. Damage scales with Might; attack rate scales with Speed.

Evolution Path

Town Sword evolves automatically upon reaching MAX level — no passive item needed. Open a chest after 10:00 to trigger the evolution.

Required Passive None (auto-evolves)

Passive Slots Used 0 — all six slots remain free

Strengths

The complete freedom of all six passive slots is Town Sword's defining build advantage. Where other evolution weapons consume one slot for their required passive, Town Sword lets players fill every slot with high-value options like Candelabrador, Pummarola, or Tiragisù. The directional nature lets the player manually concentrate damage on clustered enemies by steering toward them. Swallow Slice bursts produce high instantaneous damage and can carry a run during early power spikes.

Weaknesses

Attacks only fire toward the player's facing direction, leaving flanks and rear unprotected. A complementary full-coverage weapon is needed to handle enemies approaching from all sides. Glimmer-dependent burst damage is inherently inconsistent — proc rates are random.

Gameplay Tips

Keep the movement direction pointed at enemy clusters at all times — this is the core skill expression of Town Sword. Avoid standing still; continuous forward movement toward enemies naturally delivers the most strikes. Swallow Slice timing is uncontrollable, but staying aimed at dense groups ensures procs land on the maximum number of enemies. The six-slot passive freedom lets you run a complete, no-compromise support loadout from the start; invest early in Might and Speed, then add Candelabrador for wider hitboxes in the mid-game.

FAQ

Q. Do I need any specific passive to evolve? A. No. Town Sword evolves automatically at MAX level, so all six passive slots are genuinely free throughout the entire run.

Q. How do I activate Swallow Slice? A. It procs automatically via the Glimmer system at a random chance on hit. You cannot manually trigger it, but consistent hits on enemies naturally generate proc opportunities.

Q. What happens when enemies attack from behind? A. Town Sword cannot cover the rear. Pair it with an omnidirectional weapon like Holy Wand or Santa Water to handle enemies approaching from all angles.
