Danger: B Rank
A staple curse that deals 2 damage at end of turn if it's in your hand. Per-trigger damage is small, but cumulative damage builds up quickly in long fights that cycle through the deck many times. It's unplayable too, so it steals a hand slot while dealing damage - double harassment. That said, 2 damage isn't fatal, and there are plenty of situations where shop removal isn't urgent. Remove it with spare gold if you can, but the urgency is nowhere near that of Normality or Bad Luck.

Counterplay and Play Pattern
- Shop removal: 75g+. Remove when you have the gold to spare
- Blue Candle: play for 1 HP to Exhaust - reduces 2 damage to 1
- Empty your hand: playing everything each turn avoids Decay's damage. Low-cost builds handle this easily
- Omamori: negates 2 curse acquisitions
- Darkstone Periapt: +6 Max HP on curse acquisition. Easily pays off against mild curses like Decay
Good Synergies
- Blue Candle: Exhaust Decay for 1 HP - direct damage mitigation
- Fire Breathing (Ironclad): damage on each Decay draw, converting the curse's downside into offense
- Feel No Pain (Ironclad): Block when Blue Candle Exhausts Decay
- Darkstone Periapt: +6 Max HP on curse acquisition - far outweighs Decay's cumulative damage
- Du-Vu Doll: +1 Strength per curse in deck. Given Decay's small 2 damage, the Strength buff may be worth more
