Rating

Danger: C-tier

A plain hand-clogger status with no extra effects beyond being Unplayable. You lose one hand slot the turn you draw it, but no damage or debuff. Unlike Dazed, it is not Ethereal, so it hits the discard pile normally and can cycle back into your hand later. Still, status cards auto-clear at the end of combat, so there is no lasting effect. Multiple copies clog the hand badly, but 1 or 2 is usually negligible.

Acquisition and Related Enemies

  • Added by many enemies during combat — the most common status in the game. Plenty of monsters have attack patterns that apply Wound
  • Some enemies apply multiple Wounds at once, crushing your hand in a single hit
  • Status cards exist only during combat and are auto-removed after the fight

Counterplay

  • No extra effects, so there is no harm beyond the hand slot. Tanking it is usually fine
  • Medical Kit: play status cards to Exude them. Removes Wound from the combat deck
  • Evolve (Ironclad): draw an extra card on each Wound draw. Offsets the lost hand slot
  • Only a real problem when Wounds pile up — kill the enemies that apply them

Good Synergies

  • Evolve (Ironclad): draw an extra card whenever you draw a status. Wound becomes a draw source. With Evolve active, Wounds are actually beneficial
  • Fire Breathing (Ironclad): deals damage on each status draw. Converts Wound into offense
  • Medical Kit: play Wound to Exude it. Useful when the deck is stuffed with Wounds
  • Feel No Pain (Ironclad): gain Block when Medical Kit Exudes Wound
