Choices
"Rummage"
- Gain 1 random Colorless card
"Set on Fire"
- Remove 1 card from your deck
Recommended Choice
"Set on Fire" for card removal is the right pick in almost every situation. Card removal is one of the highest-value actions in the game, and normally costs around 75 Gold at the shop. Getting to remove a Strike or Defend for free and compress the deck makes this one of the top-tier events.
"Rummage" for a Colorless card is not terrible. Colorless cards are shared across all characters and many of them are strong, so you might find a card you actually want. The random roll is the catch, so you might walk away with a card you do not need.
Strategy
- Free card removal is rare, so this event almost always calls for the burn option. Cutting starter cards like Strike or Defend to thin the deck is the standard play
- Only consider the Colorless option if your deck is already well compressed and you have nothing you want to cut
- Strike is the top removal target. Defend at least does minimal work providing Block, but Strike loses value very quickly as the deck scales
- Colorless cards include strong draw, hand manipulation, and utility damage, but the random pick does not guarantee the one you want
- Finding this event in Act 1 is excellent. Early card removal accelerates deck cycling and positively affects every later combat
- If you were planning to spend Gold on shop removal, free removal here frees up that 75 Gold for other purchases, so it is effectively worth 75 Gold
