"Eat the Egg"

"Take the Egg"

• Add the Quest card "Byrdonis Egg" to your deck (hatches at a Rest Site into the Relic "Byrd Chick" plus the card "Byrd Rush")

On high Ascension, "Eat the Egg" (Max HP +7) is the stable pick. Max HP stays active for the rest of the run and delivers a no-risk permanent benefit.

"Take the Egg" adds an unplayable card to the deck until it hatches at a Rest Site. Hatching consumes one Rest Site action, so you lose the chance to heal or Upgrade there. That said, the resulting "Byrd Rush" (0-cost, 14 damage) is a strong frontloaded card, so if the next Rest Site is close it is a worthwhile investment.

• "Eat the Egg" is immediate and stable. Early in a run before your direction is set, stability is worth more
• If you take the egg, check distance to the next Rest Site. Further away means longer with a dead card jamming your deck
• Since hatching uses a Rest Site turn, if you have a card to Upgrade, eating the egg is better
• 0-cost 14 damage Byrd Rush is immediate firepower for Act 1 combat. If early damage is lacking, taking the egg is justified
• On high Ascension, tight HP management means Max HP +7 contributes more reliably to run stability
