Choices
"Door of Light"
- Upgrade 2 random cards
"Door of Shadow"
- Remove 1 card from your deck
Recommended Choice
Both options are strong and risk-free. Pick based on deck state.
"Door of Shadow" for card removal clears starter cards like Strike and Defend to compress the deck, which is the priority most of the time. A thinner deck raises your odds of drawing key cards and improves overall consistency. The Act 1 window for removing Strikes is especially valuable.
"Door of Light" for 2 random Upgrades shines when there are many cards you want Upgraded. However, the Upgrade targets are random, so you cannot guarantee hitting the cards you want. If the deck has multiple Upgrade-heavy cards (cost reductions, effect doublings), it is worth considering.
Strategy
- If 3+ Strikes or Defends remain, Door of Shadow to remove them is generally higher value
- If the deck is already compressed and nothing really needs cutting, Door of Light's Upgrades shine
- Upgrade targets are random, so more un-Upgraded cards in the deck lowers the odds of hitting useful ones
- Early Act 1, compression pays off more in later Acts, so Door of Shadow is recommended
- Rest Site Upgrades are available elsewhere, but free removal is rarer, factoring into priority
