"Devour"

"Rummage"

• Lose 14 HP. Gain the Prime Cheese Relic

"Rummage" to get the Prime Cheese Relic is generally the priority. A Relic's permanent effect tends to outvalue 2 Common cards long-term. The 14 HP cost is meaningful, but the Relic applies to the rest of the run, which justifies it.

"Devour" lets you cherry-pick 2 from 8 Common cards, so you can filter for what fits the deck. It also avoids the HP hit. If the deck is thin in cards at the start of Act 1 or HP is shaky, this is the better play. However, Common cards are generally weaker than Rare or Uncommon, so their value drops later in the run.

• 14 HP is on the heavy end for event costs. If current HP is 30 or lower, be careful
• Check the Prime Cheese effect and judge deck fit. If it matches the deck's direction, take "Rummage" without hesitation
• Adding 2 Common cards means adding to your deck size, which you may not want if you are pushing compression
• Early Act 1 with an Attack- or Skill-starved deck can absolutely benefit from 2 Common cards to stabilize fights
• Since you pick 2 out of 8, the value of "Devour" rises if strong staple Commons appear in the offer
• A nearby Rest Site softens the 14 HP hit for "Rummage"
• If this appears in Act 2, Common cards have dropped in value versus Act 1, pushing Relic priority even higher
