Every option is a swap of items within the same category. You give up something from your current holdings and receive a new random item of the same type in return.

The Relic swap is the highest risk, highest reward line. Trading a weak Relic for a strong one can transform your run, but the reverse is just as possible. Judge carefully whether the Relic being offered up is truly expendable.

The Potion swap carries the least risk. You can turn a Potion you have no use for into a different one, so it is easy to pick.

The Gold swap is a straight 100-for-100 exchange, so effectively nothing happens. Treat it as a last resort for when neither other option is viable.

• If you pick the Relic swap, confirm that the Relic being offered up is genuinely the weakest one you own. The game picks which Relic to hand over at random, so if a core Relic is being targeted, walk away
• The Potion swap has a small downside, so if you are not happy with your current Potion lineup feel free to try it
• A 100 Gold for 100 Gold trade looks pointless, but it functions as a safety valve for when the other two options are too risky
• The key point is that the item you hand over is chosen randomly, not by you. Look at what is being offered first, then decide whether to trade
