Flame is a 1G cornerstone of Pyromancer construction — price, footprint, and synergy all align from round one, making it a mandatory starter part for the class. Its cost belies an outsized count of crafting chain entry points and build contributions, and the rule "if you picked Pyromancer, buy every Flame you see" is universally shared.

The biggest role is opening Heat supply. Chili Pepper triggers its debuff purify at Heat 10+, Pumpkin gains Heat 10 when entering Fatigue, and Chili Goobert scales bonuses with accumulated Heat — Pyromancer items swing dramatically based on "how much Heat is already banked at battle start." Five Flames guarantee opening Heat 5, pulling these Heat-threshold items' first triggers forward by a full round.

The Double Axe synergy is a canonical example. Double Axe deals more damage based on adjacent Flame count; filling the surrounding 8 cells with Flame pushes single-target output near the top of the class.
