Balancer Growth Build
Balancer Growth Build
Core Mechanic
The Balancer class item, Scale, triggers items on both sides 30% faster when both sides stay within 5 gold value of each other. A long-game growth build where stats scale every time items trigger.
Connect items with Twine and Rope and leverage Very Long Spear's AoE attacks. Weak early, but transforms in the back half.
Recommended Subclass: Balancer
Balancer is mandatory at Round 8. Scale is the centerpiece.
Core Items and Placement
| Item | Role |
|---|---|
| Scale | Class core; +30% trigger speed when both sides balance |
| Twine | Item connection + growth |
| Rope | Item connection + growth |
| Very Long Spear | AoE attack main weapon |
| Broccoli | Nature item + growth |
| Armor / Shield | Defensive layer |
Center Scale and place equal-value items on left and right. The more connections via Twine and Rope, the more growth.
Build Order
Early game (Rounds 1-6)
Prioritize Twine and Rope. Also collect Very Long Spear materials. Move Wooden Sword → Spear.
Mid game (Rounds 7-12)
Take Balancer at Round 8. Center Scale and balance left/right item values within 5 gold. Add Very Long Spear when it appears.
Late game (Round 13+)
Twine + Rope + Very Long Spear + growth items is the finished form. The longer the fight, the more item stats grow, leading to a back-half comeback.
Tactics and Positioning
This build is "weak early, transforms late". In the early game, don't force the issue — endure with defense, and shift to a comeback through growth item effects in the mid-to-late. Stay aware of Scale's left/right balance during the round.
Difficult Matchups and Counters
- Opening-rush archetypes: assembly takes time. Layer shield + helm early.
- Buff-strip: removing growth buffs hurts. Counter with Amethyst.
- High armor: even Very Long Spear can struggle to pierce. Mix in a Double Axe.
Variations
Combining with Shellguard (Turtle) creates a defense + growth hybrid. Pairing with Bard (Ukulele) for healing + growth also works.
