Adventurer Build Tier List
Class Position
The Adventurer is a versatile class headlined by "stat growth via item activations" and "buff steal from opponents". In late-season 2026 meta, it sits at top tier, with the "Fedora + Daggerang" buff-steal build acting as the natural enemy of buff-dependent meta. The community sometimes rates it as "the strongest class".
The starter setup is simple, but each subclass — Treasure Hunter (Fedora), Shellguard (Turtle), Mercury (multi-weapon), Balancer (growth) — offers a completely different game plan, giving the class wide diversity. The recent Spring update also added "Ukulele (Bard)" subclass, expanding choices further.
Tier Criteria
| Tier | Rating | Characteristics |
|---|---|---|
| S | Top meta | Natural counter to buff-stealing, versatile |
| A | Consistently strong | Defense focus or hit-spam |
| B | Situational | Long-game focus, requires time to assemble |
S Tier — Top Meta
Fedora Buff Steal Build (Treasure Hunter)
Treasure Hunter's Fedora grants massive opening Luck via unique items above the brim + boosted treasure shop frequency, combined with Daggerang's "attack while stealing opponent buffs" — the strongest Adventurer build. Overwhelmingly favorable against buff-dependent opponents (Mega Clover, Bowl archetypes).
Hammer Daggerang Build (Any)
Flexible build that uses Hammer's stun to chain-activate Daggerangs, overwhelming with buff steals and hit count. Subclass-agnostic — strongest paired with Treasure Hunter, but functional with any.
A Tier — The Stable Core
Turtle Defense Build (Shellguard)
Endurance build that uses Turtle's "shields above and below block double, max 4" for an iron defense wall. Offense is modest, but combined with Lifebinder-style sustains it becomes near-invincible. The "win the long game" archetype.
Mercury Poison Melee Build (Mercury)
Unique build that uses Mercury Elemental's "stamina regen and damage→armor conversion based on adjacent melee weapons" to run 5-7 melee weapons — normally a "do not over-equip" category.
B Tier — Niche / Advanced
Bard Healing Build (Bard)
Endurance build that uses Ukulele's "music item activation advances cooldowns + buff duplication" to multiply healing buffs for resilient gameplay. Offense is modest but unique playstyle. As a recently added subclass, evaluation may shift.
Balancer Growth Build (Balancer)
Long-game build using Scale's "+30% trigger speed when both sides balance" and growth via Twine/Rope item connections. Weak early but transforms in the back half. Assembly takes time, so weak to opening rush.
Subclass Selection Guide
| Subclass | Class Item | Recommended Build |
|---|---|---|
| Treasure Hunter | Fedora | Fedora Buff Steal |
| Shellguard | Turtle | Turtle Defense |
| Mercury | Mercury Elemental | Mercury Poison Melee |
| Bard | Ukulele | Bard Healing |
| Balancer | Scale | Balancer Growth |
If Fedora + Daggerang are visible, take Treasure Hunter (strongest). Consider other subclasses against buff-independent matchups.
Meta Trends
The Adventurer's meta center is "Fedora Buff Steal". In late-season 2026:
- vs Mega Clover: buff steal nullifies the ignition payoff — favorable
- vs Bowl archetypes (Beastmaster): keeps stealing the opponent's buff supply
- vs Pyromancer (Dark Lantern): few buffs to steal, struggles
- vs Berserker (Anvil): adjacency buff steal weakens damage
Unfavorable matchups:
- Buff-independent (poison spike, Reaper poison): few targets to steal
- High armor (Turtle vs Turtle): Daggerang damage struggles to pierce
Advanced Tips
- Unique items above Fedora's brim grow Luck — collect them deliberately
- Secure the Boomerang → Daggerang evolution early
- Rope and Twine triple-duty as item connectors + growth + craft material
- Sewing Kit boosts craft activation speed — a hidden critical item
- Ukulele's music item activations are judged near the neck
