Hammer Daggerang Build
Hammer Daggerang Build
Core Mechanic
A build that uses Hammer's stun to chain Daggerang activations, overwhelming with buff steals and hit count. Sewing Kit boosts crafted item activation speed, making it stronger.
Because Daggerang steals opponent buffs, running multiple copies multiplies the steal count and strips the opponent's buffs root and stem.
Recommended Subclass: Any
A flexible build that doesn't require a specific subclass. Treasure Hunter (Fedora) is the strongest pairing, but Shellguard (Turtle) and Balancer (Scale) also work.
Core Items and Placement
| Item | Role |
|---|---|
| Hammer | Main stun source |
| Daggerang (multiple) | Buff steal + chain attack |
| Twine | Item connection + craft material |
| Sewing Kit | Boosts craft item activation speed |
| Banana / Blueberries | Stamina supply |
| Armor / Shield | Defensive layer |
Center Hammer and place 2-3 Daggerangs around it. Place Sewing Kit near Daggerangs to lift activation speed.
Build Order
Early game (Rounds 1-6)
Prioritize Boomerang and Rope. Move Wooden Sword → Hammer.
Mid game (Rounds 7-12)
Pick a subclass at Round 8 (any). Assemble Hammer and Daggerangs, reinforce with Sewing Kit.
Late game (Round 13+)
3 Daggerangs + Sewing Kit + Hammer is the finished form. The stun chain triggers buff-steal repeatedly, fully stripping opponent buffs.
Tactics and Positioning
This build runs the loop "Hammer stun → Daggerang chain steals buffs". Stun-resistant opponents are tough, but squishy targets fold. Boosting craft activation speed via Sewing Kit is critical.
Difficult Matchups and Counters
- Stun-resistant opponents: the Daggerang chain breaks. Push Hammer's raw damage.
- High armor: even Daggerang can struggle to pierce. Mix in a Double Axe.
- Buff-independent (poison spike): steal value is muted. Push raw Daggerang damage.
Variations
Combining with Treasure Hunter (Fedora) for max steal odds is the strict-upgrade "Fedora Buff Steal Build". This build acts as the fallback when subclass is undecided.
