Berserker
Chieftain Endurance Build
Chieftain Endurance Build
Core Mechanic
The Chieftain class item, Deerwood Guardian, extends the duration of the Berserker's Battle Rage (attack speed boost when HP is low) based on Nature item count. It is an endurance build that fights from a long Rage state, and combining Nature with Staff weapons produces surprising damage.
Some players consider it the strongest Berserker subclass, but the correct placement is narrow and the Deerwood Guardian position is tricky.
Recommended Subclass: Chieftain
Chieftain is mandatory at Round 8. Deerwood Guardian is the centerpiece.
Core Items and Placement
| Item | Role |
|---|---|
| Deerwood Guardian | Class core; Rage duration extension |
| Nature items (Broccoli, Blueberries, Garlic, etc.) | Rage extension + star slot value |
| Magic Staff | Mid-game extra damage with Nature synergy |
| Eggscalibur | Ranged extra damage; offense + defense |
| Armor / Shield | HP management to enter Rage cleanly |
| Banana | Stamina supply |
Center Deerwood Guardian and place 4-6 Nature items on its star slots. Cluster Magic Staff and let it pick up the buffs from Nature items.
Build Order
Early game (Rounds 1-6)
Prioritize Nature items (Blueberries, Carrot, Garlic) and Healing Herbs. Move Wooden Sword → Axe for the minimum damage source.
Mid game (Rounds 7-12)
Take Chieftain at Round 8. Center Deerwood Guardian and place Nature items on star slots. Add Magic Staff when it appears.
Late game (Round 13+)
Boost damage with Eggscalibur or Burning Sword. Once Rage duration extends to 10-15 seconds, you outright shave through opponent defense.
Tactics and Positioning
This build deliberately drops your HP to maintain a long Rage state. So in the early game don't force the issue — let the Rage burst carry you. Tune the HP bunker so it never falls below the Rage trigger HP.
Difficult Matchups and Counters
- High armor (Turtle): even Rage attacks struggle to pierce. Mix in Eggscalibur or Double Axe.
- Buff-strip: stripping Rage buffs is fatal. Counter with Amethyst.
- One-shot powerhouses: you get killed before Rage triggers. Layer shield + helm early.
Variations
Pairing with Blacksmith (Anvil) is hard for placement. Combining with Shaman (Shaman Mask) reinforces Nature items via Runes, but stability of this build is higher.
