Rating & Analysis
Red Deck adds +1 discard to every round — a simple but powerful effect available from the very start. One extra discard per round means one more swing at the cards you actually want, which dramatically stabilizes Flush / Straight / Four of a Kind plans. Beginner-friendly without being a beginner-only deck — Red Deck remains a top contender even at the highest Stakes.
Discards aren't just for re-drawing — they also fuel Joker scaling. Yorick (+1 Mult per 5+ discards), Burnt Joker (upgrades the discarded hand), and Merry Andy (+3 discards, -1 hand) all benefit directly. Even hand-reduced builds like Merry Andy stay safe because the extra discard keeps card selection flexible.
Red Deck's real strength is reliable resource flow. It doesn't have the explosive ceiling of Magic Deck or Zodiac Deck, but it has the highest "win-without-good-Joker-luck" probability of any deck. Tier lists across the community routinely place Red Deck near the top for "most consistent clear of any Stake."

Good Joker Synergies
| Joker | Why |
|---|---|
| Yorick | +1 Mult per 5+ discards — Red Deck makes the trigger trivial. |

| Blueprint / Brainstorm | Copies any discard-axis Joker for double effect. |
| Hit the Road | +0.5 Mult per Jack discarded. The extra discard adds up fast. |
Recommended Builds
| Build | Core Loop | Target Consumables |

| Discard scaling | Yorick + Burnt Joker convert discards into damage | Card-enhancing Tarots |
| Merry Andy spam | Merry Andy +3 + Red Deck +1 = 5+ discards per round | Mult-enhancement Tarots |
| Stable hand-build | Flush / Four of a Kind targeting, extra discards lock in the hit | Glass / Steel cards |
| Generalist Jokers | Blueprint / Brainstorm + strong base Jokers | Black Hole / The Soul |
Tips & Usage
- Build for hands that benefit from card swapping: Flush / Four of a Kind / Flush House.
- Don't hoard discards — unused discards expire each round, so spend them building the strongest hand.
- Yorick / Burnt Joker have priority pickup whenever they appear.
- Merry Andy's -1 hand penalty is much less painful here because of the discard surplus (5+ per round).
- On high Stakes, balance economy and Joker upgrades — don't go all-in on one axis.
Caveats
- No direct score-multiplier effect. Damage relies on Jokers and hand-leveling.
- If you don't actively use discards, the deck buff goes to waste — play decisively.
- Beginner-friendly does NOT mean beginner-only. Red Deck stays viable at every Stake.
- Lacks the explosive ceiling of Magic / Zodiac Deck — not the best for highroll runs.
