Rating & Analysis
Zodiac Deck has a unique advantage no other deck offers: three vouchers active from turn one. Tarot Merchant and Planet Merchant flood the shop with consumables, and Overstock adds an extra shop slot — making your draft efficiency for Jokers, Vouchers, and Consumables vastly higher than any other starter. The result is a deck that supports basically any build path: Tarot, Planet, or Joker-focused, all from Ante 1.
The strongest pairing is with the Planet plan. With Planet Merchant on tap, you can pick up Astronomer or Constellation early and start scaling hand levels immediately. A Tarot plan also works great — Tarot Merchant + Crystal Ball / Omen Globe gets you a Soul-hunting build by mid-Ante. Many tier lists rank Zodiac Deck as the top "consumable-economy" deck above Magic Deck because of its sheer flexibility.
The only real downside is the starting consumable slots are still just 2, so you'll want Crystal Ball or Omen Globe to expand. Economy is excellent, but Ante 1–2 damage depends on Joker draws — bad luck can leave you scraping by.
Rating by Stake
| Stake | Rating | Comment |
|---|---|---|
| White / Red | S+ | Three-voucher advantage = fastest clear path. |
| Green | S+ | Economic depth handles scaling chip requirements with ease. |
| Black | S+ | Eternal Jokers barely matter — consumables give you a parallel scoring axis. |
| Blue | S | -1 discard depends on the Joker setup; Tarot plan is nearly unaffected. |
| Purple / Orange | S | Push voucher upgrades by Ante 4 to keep up with the score curve. |
| Gold | A+ | Rental Jokers strain the economy; protect cashflow above all. |
Good Joker Synergies
| Joker | Why |
|---|---|
| Cartomancer | Tarot Merchant + slot expansion turns this into infinite Tarot supply. |
| Fortune Teller | +1 Mult per Tarot — Zodiac Deck spends Tarots faster than most. |
| Astronomer | Pairs perfectly with Planet Merchant — free Planet packs round out the build. |
| Constellation | x0.1 Mult per Planet used; Planet Merchant feeds the engine. |
| Perkeo | Negative-copies your consumables, turning the strong economy into permanent stock. |
| Blueprint / Brainstorm | Copies any axis Joker — doubles the value of every consumable. |

Tips & Usage
- Push voucher upgrades early: Tarot Merchant → Tarot Tycoon, Planet Merchant → Planet Tycoon, Overstock → Overstock Plus.
- Buy Planet Packs / Arcana Packs aggressively when they appear — your extra shop slot gives you more options to draft from.
- Crystal Ball or Omen Globe early to expand consumable slots to 3–4.
- Joker slots are still just 5 — pick carefully and don't impulse-buy.
- The Soul is top priority. A Legendary Joker (especially Perkeo) closes the game.
Caveats
- No direct +1 Joker / +1 hand bonuses. If you whiff Joker draws Ante 1–2, the run can stall.
- Voucher purchases are still capped at 1 per Ante; the three starters are bonus.
- Knowing voucher purchase priority is essential to convert the extra shop slot into wins.
- On high stakes, balance Joker power-ups against keeping the economy healthy.
