Rating & Analysis
Blueprint is widely regarded as one of the strongest Jokers in Balatro. It generates no score on its own, but copies the entire effect of the Joker to its right. The moment you slot it next to a strong Mult/xMult Joker, the build's ceiling jumps. Even Legendary effects (Triboulet, Canio, Perkeo) are copied wholesale — Blueprint is a true "keystone" pickup that warps the run.
The dream pairing is Brainstorm (copies leftmost Joker). With Brainstorm at the leftmost slot + a strong Joker in the middle + Blueprint to its right, you effectively run that key Joker three times. Polychrome edition (x1.5 Mult) is also part of the copied effect, so stacking Polychrome on a strong Joker gives Blueprint exponential scaling.
The pickup keeps its value at every Stake. Most community tier lists rank Blueprint as EX. The $10 cost is not cheap, but you should buy on sight.

Tips & Usage
- Buy on sight. $10 is steep but the impact dwarfs the price.
- Position matters — Blueprint copies whatever is to its right. Putting it at the rightmost slot does nothing.
- With Perkeo, place Blueprint to Perkeo's left so the duplicate Negative-copy fires on shop exit.
- For triple-copy with Brainstorm, the strong Joker goes between (or to the rightmost), with Blueprint to its right and Brainstorm at slot 1.
- A Polychrome Joker on Blueprint's right is doubled — including the x1.5 Mult bonus.
Caveats
- Rightmost Blueprint = nothing copied. Always check ordering.
- Blueprint has no intrinsic numbers. Without a copy target, it's worthless.
- "Blueprint chains" (Blueprint copying Blueprint) don't recurse meaningfully.
- Eternal Blueprint stays useful as long as the copy target is strong.
- Perishable Blueprint expiring mid-run is brutal if it's your main attacker — plan to swap it out.
