- Effect: +$2 / Gain a Treasure. May exchange for Champion on discard.
Rating
Fourth step of the Page Traveller line. +$2 plus any cost-5 Treasure = Festival+Smithy-tier tempo. The final step before Champion.
Strength: "+$2 + any Treasure of choice." Pick Gold normally, or Coin of the Realm / Treasure Trove / Amulet etc. as situation dictates.
How to Play
From Warrior exchange. Decide each turn whether to push to Champion or hold.
Default: advance to Champion. Champion's permanent +1 Action + attack immunity is unmatched.
Stopping at Hero gives a strong BM support: +$2 + Gold/turn.
Key Combos
Hero + King's Court: TR-Hero = +$4 + 2 Treasures.
Hero + Giant ($5 turn): $5 Province + Gold via Hero.
Hero + on-gain effects (Border Village): chain Treasure gain into another gain.
Synergies
- King's Court: doubling.
- Giant: big-coin turns.
- Teacher: tokens.
- Remodel: pre-Champion alternative.
Counters & Bad Matchups
- Short games: don't reach Champion.
- Full-trash supplies: lose Hero before Champion.
Advanced Tips
Tempting to stop at Hero — +$2 + Gold is great. But Champion's long-term value outweighs.
Treasure choice: usually Gold; sometimes Amulet / Coin of the Realm.
Teacher's +$1 token = +$3, near-Festival.
Mirror: Champion timing matters — first-mover advantage.
