Basic Info

  • Effect: Trash a card from your hand. Gain a Silver per $1 it costs. Reaction: when you gain a card, you may reveal this from your hand to exchange the card for a Silver.

Rating

Hinterlands' specialty trasher + reaction. As Action: trash a card, gain Silvers equal to its cost. Estate ($2) = 2 Silvers; Copper ($0) = 0; Gold ($6) = 6 Silvers.

Reaction is decisive vs. cursers — convert incoming Curse into Silver. Top counter to Witch.

Community consensus: best Curse-counter card; useful in BM. Tier A.

How to Play

Open buy at $4. Top priority on Witch boards.

Mid: Reveal Trader on Curse incoming → Silver instead.

Trash dead cards (Estates, Ruins, Curses) for multi-Silver gains.

Trader + Witch: React to opponent's Witch — convert Curse to Silver.

Trader + Estate: 2 Silvers per Estate trashed.

Trader + Gold: 6 Silvers (extreme thinning).
