Rating

Trash + conditional big-draw hybrid. Trashing an Action gives a massive +5 cards; Treasure +2. The +1 Action means no terminal collision.

Best use: trash unwanted Actions for +5 draw. On terminal-heavy boards, Rice Broker recycles excess Actions into a draw burst.

Overall B tier. Reaches A on Action-trash boards.

How to Play

Early: solid 4-coin pickup. Estate trashing not supported, but Copper-trash for +2 is efficient.

Mid-game: trash old Smithies, Workshops for +5 cards. Engine cornerstone.

End-game: with thin deck, Silver/Gold trash for +2 still works for last-turn draw.

Trash Priorities

  1. Unwanted terminal Actions (+5 cards)
  2. Copper (+2 cards)
  3. Silver/Gold (+2, deck money cost)
  4. Estate not viable (Victory has no payout)

Key Combos

Rice Broker + Chapel: Chapel mass-thins, Rice Broker draws what's left.

Rice Broker + Forge / Inventor: Buy a cheap Action → Rice Broker recycles it for +5.

Rice Broker + Gold: Gold-trash +2 normally bad, but final deck-tune.

Synergies

  • Chapel / Sanctuary: Thinning + draw split.
  • Workshop / Craftsman: Cheap action → recycle.
  • Remodel / Craftsman: Trash-gain combo.

Counters & Bad Matchups

  • No trash targets: Required, weak in thin decks.
  • Estate-heavy decks: Can't trash Estates.
  • Pure BM: No action targets for +5.

Advanced Tips

Recycle excess terminals for explosive draw. Best feature is converting "bad action mistakes" into draw bursts.
