Choices
"Draw Water"
- Gain a Phosphor Potion (no risk)
"Climb Up"
- Gain the Fresnel Lens (Relic)
- Lose 13 Max HP
Recommended Choice
The Fresnel Lens is a strong divination-related Relic, so if you are building a divination deck, "Climb Up" is clearly better. 13 Max HP is a heavy cost, but the permanent effect often pays back across the run.
If Max HP is tight or Fresnel Lens does not match the deck direction, "Draw Water" for a Phosphor Potion is safer. A single-use potion functions as insurance for a rough Elite or boss moment.
Strategy
- 13 Max HP is one of the heavier costs in events. With 60+ Max HP the hit is manageable, but below 50 it calls for caution
- Fresnel Lens amplifies divination (scry-style peeking and ordering of the top of the deck). With many divination cards or plans to pivot that way, 13 Max HP is well worth it
- Without much divination use, Fresnel Lens's payoff is thin. Settling for the potion is more rational there
- Getting a Relic early in Act 1 pays back across the entire remaining run, making HP sacrifice acceptable long-term
- If potion slots are full, "Draw Water" is less valuable. Either use an existing potion to free a slot or consider "Climb Up"
- Nearby Rest Sites or healing events make post-MaxHP-loss HP management easier. Check the whole map before deciding
