Soul Deck Build

Build Overview

A build that cycles massive Soul generation and consumption, delivering Block-ignoring damage and Osti HP recovery at the same time. With Possession (Soul play deals 6-8 HP Loss to a random enemy) and Soul Eater (Soul play grants 1-2 summon) both placed, every Soul you play becomes a "block-ignoring damage + Osti heal" double trigger — a powerful self-fueling engine. Spirit Drain, Spirit Split, Dirge, and Soul Strip fill the deck with Souls, and Soul Storm closes the fight with damage scaling off Exuded Soul count.

Tier: A

With Possession and Soul Eater both placed, the continuous damage and healing make mid-to-long fights overwhelmingly in your favor. Soul Storm passes 50 damage per cast at 20+ Exuded Souls — more than enough as a finisher. The build needs all three pieces (Possession, Soul Eater, and a reliable Soul source) to shine, so it's moderately pick-reliant.

Key Cards (Essential)

  • Possession: Power that deals 6-8 HP Loss (block-ignoring) to a random enemy each time a Soul is played. The build's top damage source — whether or not this Power lands heavily shapes the build's strength
  • Soul Eater: Power granting 1-2 summon per Soul played. Combined with Possession, a single Soul triggers "damage + Osti heal" for a self-contained engine that keeps Osti HP steady while attacking
  • Spirit Drain: Cost 1. Deals 2-3 HP Loss and adds 2-3 Souls to the draw pile. v0.103.0 reduced both the HP Loss and the Soul count by 1 each, but it still stands as a reliable Soul source

Candidate Cards

  • Soul Strip: Cost 1 attack dealing 9-11 damage while adding 1 Soul to the draw pile. A strong early option that doubles as damage and Soul generation
  • Spirit Split: Cost 2 attack for 13-18 damage, adding 1 Soul to draw, hand, and discard piles simultaneously. The Soul added to hand lets you trigger Possession and Soul Eater the same turn you play it
  • Dirge: X-cost skill granting 3 summon and 1 Soul per X. Heavy energy investment gives Osti a full-HP reset plus bulk Soul supply
  • Soul Storm: Scaling attack adding +2 damage per Exuded Soul. The build's finisher — 20 Exuded Souls means 49 damage, 30 means 69
  • Necromancy: Cost 1 (0 upgraded). Converts a card in the draw pile into a Soul, improving deck quality while adding supply
  • Unleash: Cost 1 attack dealing extra damage equal to Osti's current HP. With Soul Eater keeping Osti HP high, it always does big numbers
  • A Glimpse Beyond: Skill adding 3 Souls to the draw pile for everyone. Refills Soul inventory in bulk
  • Gravedigger: Cost 1 for 8-10 Block plus 1 Soul to the draw pile. Defense plus Soul supply, usable every turn

Relic Synergies

  • Death Mask: Necrobinder-exclusive relic adding 3 Souls to the draw pile at combat start. The best relic for this build — secures Possession and Soul Eater triggers from the opening turns
  • Game Piece: Draw 1 card on any Power play. Covers hand-size during setup when placing Possession, Soul Eater, and Friendship
  • Mummified Hand: After a Power play, a random card in hand costs 0. Zero-costing a Soul supply card while placing Possession or Soul Eater lets the cycle start that same turn
  • Chemical X: +2 to X-cost cards. Dirge gains 2 extra X, flooding summons and Souls in a single turn — a one-turn Osti heal plus Soul refill burst
  • Backpack: +2 draw at combat start. Improves the odds of hitting Possession and Soul Eater early
  • Sealed Ghost Box: Necrobinder-exclusive relic granting 1 summon each turn start. Helps Osti survive early turns before Soul Eater sees play
  • Frozen Egg: Auto-upgrades any Power added to the deck. Upgrades to Possession (6 to 8) and Soul Eater (1 to 2) dramatically strengthen the core

Play Plan

Act 1

Prioritize Soul Eater and Spirit Drain to set the base up first. Possession is great early if available, but even Soul Eater alone keeps Osti HP stable and scales Unleash and Protector. Soul Strip provides damage and Soul supply together — take multiple copies. Soul Storm is weak early while Exuded Soul count is low, but keep 1 for later. Spirit Drain's Soul supply was reduced in v0.103.0, so also grab Spirit Split and Soul Strip in parallel.

Act 2

Land Possession. With Soul Eater and Possession both out, playing a pile of Souls each turn simultaneously deals damage and heals Osti. Spirit Split and Dirge push Soul supply to overwhelming levels. As Exuded Soul count grows, use Soul Storm as a finisher aggressively. Necromancy converts dead cards into Souls, simultaneously thinning the deck and supplying Souls.

Act 3

With the deck complete, stockpile Souls and fire them in one turn, leveraging Possession for a flood of block-ignoring damage. Once Exuded Soul count clears 30, Soul Storm hits 70+ in one cast. Manage Dirge usage on boss fights to balance Osti HP recovery and Soul supply. With Soul Eater auto-healing Osti, keep Osti high-HP and use Unleash as your main damage card.

Strengths and Weaknesses

Strengths

  • Possession's HP Loss ignores Block, so even heavy-Block enemies take consistent damage
  • Soul Eater auto-manages Osti HP, keeping Unleash and Protector at max damage at all times
  • Soul Storm scales naturally as fights run longer — an excellent late-game closer
  • Dirge bundles Osti healing and Soul supply, giving strong emergency recovery

Weaknesses

  • Damage is weak early until Possession and Soul Eater are both placed
  • If Soul supply cards don't appear, damage simply doesn't happen
  • Possession hits a random target — in multi-enemy fights you can't prioritize which enemy dies first
  • Spirit Drain's nerf (3 to 2 Souls added) means solo Soul supply is weaker; compensate with Spirit Split or Dirge
