Rating
The basic Attack every character starts with. Damage per energy is low, and once you reach mid-run you generally want these removed from the deck. Strike-reference cards like Leading Strike or Finisher give them niche value, but keeping Strikes around only for that is usually inefficient. Upgraded is 9 damage, still below dedicated Attacks. Use it as a stable damage source early, and shred it at any card-removal opportunity once you have stronger Attacks online.
How to Use
- Valuable as damage early, but prioritize removing it at Forge or card-removal events from mid-run onward.
- Worth keeping if you pick up Strike-reference cards like Leading Strike or Finisher.
- Avoid upgrading Strikes — upgrades belong on cards with higher ceilings.
- In a Finisher shell, Strikes can stay in longer to pad the Attack count you play each turn.
Synergies / Deck Types
- Finisher: damage scales with Attacks played this turn. Strikes count, but dedicated 0-cost Attacks are more efficient.
- Leading Strike: adds a Shiv-type card after Attacks. Designed to chain with Strike-style cards.
- Forge / card-removal relics and events: removing Strikes from the deck is a clear power gain.
