Whetstone is a Neutral accessory that permanently grants +1 damage to every weapon for 4G, ranking at the top in both solo performance and crafting-hub value. Because Backpack Battles multiplies "1 damage" by attack count, a single Whetstone produces 50-150 cumulative damage per match — equivalent to one additional buff weapon's worth of contribution. Equippable by every class at 1-slot size, it is a near-mandatory foundation accessory for any weapon-focused build.

Crafting-material value far exceeds solo performance. Whetstone connects to six powerful recipes, each leading to a different build finale.

Dual-wield builds get two weapons buffed by a single Whetstone — depending on combination, a 1G-for-100-damage efficiency is achievable.

Secure Heroic Shield with Whetstone + Wooden Buckler, balancing weapon +1 and defense. Run in parallel with Twine Thread growth and Lucky Piggy luck axis — a hybrid where durability and damage both grow.

Mage Shepherd's Crook Pet Spin

Craft Shepherd's Crook with Whetstone + Broom, using the pet activation speed buff to rotate Little Bart / Goobert families faster. A non-standard use that avoids wasting 4G on Mage's low weapon dependence.

• Only weapon-type items benefit. Accessory / food / gem damage is excluded
• Weapon-absent builds (pure mana magic / pure utility) see no effect. Confirm a weapon slot before picking
• The +1 applies to all weapons in the bag but only while equipped. Stored/stashed weapons are excluded — a spec point to watch
• Consuming Whetstone as crafting material loses the battle-start +1. Holding one un-crafted is a valid choice
• Heroic Sword requires 2 Whetstones. Spending the only copy on other uses drops you off the top-priority early route
• 4G is mid-to-high among Commons. Competing with other buys early shifts priority depending on build direction
• The +1 can be canceled by subtractive debuffs (enemy armor). Value drops somewhat against high-armor opponents
• Smithing for Dummies appearance is RNG. Delaying crafts in hope of its arrival risks mid-game timing failure
