Black Deck starts with 6 Joker slots — a state most decks only reach late-game. This makes it the most "Joker-axis-faithful" deck in the game; you can field powerful synergies (Blueprint + Perkeo, Triboulet + Baron, Vampire + Glass Joker) from Ante 1. Adding the Antimatter Spectral pushes the ceiling to 7 slots.
The -1 hand penalty is real. With only 3 hands per round, missing the score target is much more punishing — Flush / Four of a Kind plans become essential because each hand needs to count. Stuntman (+50 chips, -1 hand size) and Dusk (retrigger on final hand) are key picks to compensate.
On high Stakes, Eternal Jokers are common but Black Deck handles them well — extra slots absorb the bad lock. Most tier lists place Black Deck alongside Magic / Zodiac as a top-tier choice.

Tips & Usage
- Maximize the 6 slots — Blueprint / Brainstorm + strong base Jokers is the default plan.
- Compensate for -1 hand: Stuntman, Dusk, Mr. Bones early.
- Antimatter Spectral expands to 7 slots, opens Spectral synergy.
- Sell weak Jokers actively to fund stronger picks; the slot is more valuable than the gold.
- On high Stakes, Eternal Jokers are absorbed by slot surplus.
Caveats
- -1 hand is real. Use all 4 discards to maximize each hand's score.
- Heavy Joker draw dependence — bad Ante 1–2 hurts.
- Don't fill 6 slots with anything; synergy matters more than count.
- Perishable on a main attacker = run-ending. Watch attachment carefully.
