Rating & Analysis

Smeared Joker collapses 4 suits into 2 — Hearts ↔ Diamonds and Spades ↔ Clubs become indistinguishable. Flush probability jumps from 25% to 50%, transforming Flush-axis builds from "lucky" to "consistent." Outside Checkered Deck (already 2-suit), it's the keystone enabler for Flush-focused runs.

The dream pairing is with suit-axis Jokers — The Tribe (Flush +x2 Mult), Bloodstone (+Mult per Heart), Arrowhead (+50 Chips per Spade). Smeared expands their trigger pools to cover half the deck. Flush Five hunts also benefit hugely from broader suit overlap.

Blueprint / Brainstorm copying Smeared adds nothing (suits are already collapsed). The $7 cost is fair; mandatory in Flush-axis builds. Checkered Deck overlaps the effect, lowering priority there, but in other decks Smeared is S-tier.

Good Joker Synergies

Joker Why
The Tribe Flush +x2 Mult — 50% Flush rate via Smeared.
Bloodstone +Mult per Heart (+ Diamond now) — half the deck triggers.
Arrowhead +50 Chips per Spade (+ Club now) — half the deck triggers.
Glass Joker / Vampire Enhancement-axis pairs with Flush plan.
The Order / The Trio Stack with Flush for double-axis hands.
Perkeo + Sigil axis Sigil (all same suit) maximizes Smeared's value.

Recommended Builds

Build Core Loop Target Consumables
Flush focus Smeared + Tribe + Bloodstone + Arrowhead Flush Planets
Flush Five hunt Smeared + Sigil + Showman for same-color stacks Sigil / Ouija
Straight Flush Smeared + Shortcut for relaxed hand requirements Enhancement Tarots
Two-color axis Single-color stable Flush build Main hand Planet

Tips & Usage

  • Drafting Smeared signals "commit to Flush axis."
  • Suit-conditional Jokers (Bloodstone / Arrowhead) get effective trigger doubling.
  • Checkered Deck (already 2-suit) → Smeared has minimal value; deprioritize there.
  • Sigil (all cards same suit) + Smeared opens Five-card hands.
  • Blueprint / Brainstorm copy of Smeared is wasted — suit collapse is already in effect.

Caveats

  • Not Flush-exclusive — other hand types still work normally.
  • Straight Flush judgments also benefit from the relaxed suits.
  • Perishable Smeared is risky — suits revert on expiry.
  • Single-suit-conditional effects expand, but multi-suit hand requirements aren't directly affected.
  • Checkered Deck overlap reduces value in that deck only.
