Rating
A 6-cost +4 Cards Action with a powerful trash-bonus rider. Strictly the upgrade lane from Smithy. The on-trash clause adds 3 VP (Duchy) or 3 Estates (3 VP + 3 cards toward 3-pile endings). One of the strongest 6-cost draws in Dominion.
A-to-S tier. With $6 reliable and trash-for-benefit available, S-tier. Even without TfB, A-tier as a draw piece.
How to Play
Opening: Cost 6, so it's a midgame target. Build $5 engine first, then snap-buy Hunting Grounds when $6 lands.
Midgame: Plug it into engines as core draw. +4 Cards beats Smithy and pairs with villages (Fishing Village, Inn) to chain draws.
Endgame: Trigger the trash bonus via Procession / Remodel / Junk Dealer. Choose Duchy for raw VP, or 3 Estates to drain a pile. 3-pile threats become real with the Estate option.
Key Combos
Procession: Hunting Grounds(6) played 2× + trashed → 7-cost Action gain + Duchy/3 Estates. Triple value turn.
King's Court: 3× plays = +12 Cards. Dig through the entire deck.
Rats: Rats can trash a 6-cost — rare path to Hunting Grounds trashing. Worth setting up.
Apprentice: Trash Hunting Grounds → +6 Cards + bonus. Massive burst.
Altar caps at $5, so cannot trash Hunting Grounds. Remodel can.

Advanced Tips
Duchy vs 3 Estates choice: aim for 3-pile when possible (Estate drain). Pure VP race favors Duchy.
Trash now or later? If other draw is plentiful, trash early; if HG is the draw lane, hoard until endgame.
Ultimate 3-pile finish: HG trash → 3 Estates → Province buy → trash another HG → drain Estate pile. Combine with Province-pile drain for the win.
